USC Morning Buzz: Don’t Fall For Silly Arguments

A silly argument this week is why Michigan announced Alex Orji was starting at QB this week?

Orji played in last week’s game and was clearly the better quarterback. USC would have prepared to see him even if there was no announcement. It’s standard preparation.

Given that Orji is also able to run, USC would have been expected to especially prepare for him.

Sometimes, people magnify these things too much.

  • According to Chris “Bear” Fallica, “Since 2021, Lincoln Riley has been a favorite away from home 13 times. His team has won ten of the 13 games, but are just 3-10 ATS (2-7 at USC).”
  • USC is currently a 5.5-point favorite. The line opened at 6.5.

  5. How does Lynn stop a running quarterback. Three linebackers and no nickel. Bring up the safeties and sacrifice deep help on the receivers. I think the key is to make Orgi throw it deep and hopefully he cannot do it.

        I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  6. What about Riley’s record against first year head coaches/staff’s? Michigan returns 0 starters on the offensive line from last year’s team.

    Only turnovers can save Michigan this year. Kinda obvious why Harbaugh pulled a Pete Carroll on the Wolverines.
