USC Needs To Run The Ball

There are only 10 teams in the nation with less rushing attempts than USC, which ranks No. 123 nationally.

USC is actually No. 129 in rush attempts per game because some teams have played fewer games.

The funny part is USC ranks No. 54 in rushing yards per attempt (5.25 yards per rush). So why won’t Lincoln Riley run the ball more?

  • Riley is officially closing practices this week to the media. It’s not much on a practical level because he only allows the media to watch 15 minutes of stretching/individual drills.

But it does fall into his line of thinking that any adversity must be addressed with less media access.

  7. Friday night Los Angeles sports will have its first 100,000 crowd in many a year with 50,000 at Dodgers Stadium and probably 50,000 or so for SC

    1. Well then even accounting for a start time of 8 pm at the Coliseum I guess the fans at Dodger Stadium (5:00 om) will all be LAD fans. Rutgers the name of the ‘University of New Jersey’ will either pick to see the Scarlet Knights of the NYY….could do both…..but what with upper deck foul pole area on stub hub selling for $1,100 the prudent will choose a cheap walk up at Exposition Park instead.

        I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  8. What a difference a few miles makes in Los Angeles– over at YUCLA they are excited about the prospect of ending up 6-6 and becoming bowl eligible, whereas at SC their fear is that the Trojans will end up 6-6 with a minor bowl game
