USC Morning Buzz: Time For Some Groundbreaking!

The season may be over but it’s time to break ground on Lincoln Riley’s pet project, the $200 million football facility.

Riley, Carol Folt and Jen Cohen will be at a ceremony today at 11 a.m. It’s quite a look to have this project going while USC has its first layoffs in 10 years and slashes budgets across campus.

“We need to build it or Lincoln might leave,” a USC official told me when the project was first being considered.

Maybe USC should cancel it then, if it gets Riley to leave. USC is still trying to raise the money for the project. Can Riley make a donation? It’s not like donors are dying to help him like when Pete Carroll was the football coach.

    1. Yes. She frequently looks high and sometimes slurs her words. She likely has a drinking problem. Alcohol can be a coping mechanism for people with anxiety and she clearly suffers from that ailment. She will be much better off now that she is done with politics.

    2. Not sure about that, but she DID look like the loser she is. As Plow Horse mentioned, amazing that someone so incredibly unqualified got as many votes as she did. We have a lot of stupid people out there and a lot of people who hate Trump more than they love the country. Sad.

      1. Cowardly Gabby must have ODed on fentanyl since she heard the Nevada went for Trump giving him a smashing 313-226 victory over Willie Brown’s Bimbo.

    1. You lecture Scott about celebrating the Dodgers, but why aren’t you celebrating the Trump landslide? Some “Young Dole” you are. You are a hypocrite!`

    2. Scotty’s whole stik is centered around anything negative and attacking the HC. Remember when he called PC Caesar even when he was winning? He seems very insecure and tries to feel better about himself by attacking the HC.

      1. Riley is a terrible leader and head football coach, and you are too myopic to see that, so you just attack the messenger. The head coach, Riley, should be roundly criticized. You have low standards and you must like poor results, if you like USC Football under Riley.

  2. Maybe that money could be re-purposed for Riley’s buyout?

As for Harris, I think she’s similar to Hillary Clinton or Richard Nixon: an introvert trying to play at a game that is better suited to natural extroverts, i.e. politics.

  3. And Matt Leinart’s son just committed to SMU. What does that tell you about the present state of USC’s football program?

  4. It’s time to face facts that USC is stuck with CLR for the seeable future. His buyout is $70 Million and it will cost about the same amount, or more, to hire a new staff, and USC doesn’t have to money for this. That’s why you better be damn sure what you’re getting into when you sign someone for ten years at max money. Albert Pujols anyone?

    1. QB Deshaun Watson is owed $92 million from the Cleveland Browns the next two years. Who is more overpaid, Watson or Lincoln Riley?

  5. Scooter,

SC is in dire straights. They are laying off people like Tump destroying Camel Toe Harris, they are building a $200 million office and baseball stadium, They owe around $20 mil for salaries for the football staff, and funds might be drying up. Folt is way over her head and Cohen is non existent. Folt has gone with the Woke and Political Crap crowd. With Trump winning and boosters being happy about that, they just might tell her in no certain terms, go conservative or there will be no money. Exciting times to see Folt dance like the midget she is trying to appease people.

      1. Yes Buddha. It should be disbanded given that reverse discrimination is illegal. And its a lot of money. Every department has multiple people representing blacks, latinos, queers and others and each has their own representative. And then there is a DEI representative for undergraduate students and another for graduate students. And of course there is the women studies department, chicano studies, and african american studies, ect. Everyone is making six figures plus benefits. Millions and millions in savings.

  6. SC players say new quarterback J.M. can really throw the ball, and we know he can run some, so the Trojans might be on to something here
