USC Needs A New Southern Strategy

Four-star linebacker Ty Jackson of Loxahatchee, Fla., has decommitted from USC to Florida.

Wow, a kid from Florida is going to Florida. News flash!

This is now the seventh USC commitment from the South to flip to another school. Lincoln Riley’s Southern Strategy needs some work.

USC still has seven commitments from Southern players, which is a great haul, but the risk of decommitments is much higher from players who are 3,000 miles away. Are Southern California kids decommitting en masse from USC?

Riley needs to be more selective. Pete Carroll recruited Florida, Georgia and New Jersey. He just didn’t make it the focal point of his recruiting.

  • Three-star tight end/defensive end Nela Tupou of Folsom, Calif., flipped over the weekend from Utah to USC.

    1. Well, academically speaking he wouldn’t be wrong. It’s hilarious how many cashiers can’t calculate the proper change without a register telling them what it is!

      But football is another story.

    2. His strategy has produced an unranked team in his 3rd year when USC coaches like Pete Carroll and John Robinson won national titles.

    1. It could be USC was so far behind in pay to play the So Cal kids all went to where the bigger money was. It will be that way until something changes. So perhaps that is why they go out of state to kids who are not getting offered the outlandish paydays.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, grocery prices have risen by approximately 24.7% since March 2020, signifying a significant increase in the cost of groceries under the Senile Joe/Kamala Deep State Regime.

    1. Pretty funny how they’re all crying about the plans to actually recognize & enforce the borders. But when they were going after their primary political opponent, Banana Republic style, it was “No one is above the law!”

      Their hypocrisy is never ending.

      1. Let’s see how much they really believe “No one is above the law!”

Or does Schift for Brains not get charged at all, proving what most of us know…that all of Trump’s cases were politically motivated! Too bad, so sad…didn’t work!!
