The USC song girls are a brand. Unique among spirit groups.
One of their traditions is they do not play to the cameras like normal cheerleaders. At the end of the USC-UCLA game, they were mugging for the NBC camera. That’s a big no-no.
And then after the game, there was behavior (video below), which is definitely against their image. And since when does the drum major sing along? I’ve heard about all this from several people, including former song girls, in case you think I’m just making this up.

- USC and Notre Dame play for The Shillelagh. But now I’ve seen USC refer it several times as The “Jeweled” Shillelagh. Nobody calls it that.
It’s good USC found a sponsor for it just as Lincoln Riley wants to kill the series.

- USC offensive guard Emmanuel Pregnon has accepted an invite from the East-West Shrine Bowl, which means his college career is coming to an end instead of possibly returning for one more season.
- I noticed a lot of UCLA fans performed a perfect triple lutz jumping from the football game to suddenly becoming huge women’s basketball fans after the Bruins defeated No. 1-ranked South Carolina on Sunday.
Say what many do but well Folt’s not to blame for that (song girls antics).

If you want to be nit-picky Scott, Emmanuel Pregnon did not accept an invite. He accepted an INVITATION.

Pregnon has been perhaps the best o-lineman this year. Next year will be difficult if he leaves along with Monheim.
