USC linebackers coach Matt Entz has accepted a five-year deal to become the head coach at Fresno State.
When Entz came to USC, he said he thought it would improve his chances of getting an FBS job and it worked.
Entz won two FCS national titles as the head coach at North Dakota State and had a 60-10 record in five seasons.
USC will be hard-pressed to replace him because he was an over-qualified assistant coach who put his head down and worked without being an endless self-promoter.
This is a HUGE loss

He’s what we need , not the prickly On The Spectrum Sir Lincoln of Riley.

We knew it would happen. Best of luck coach Entz, and thanks for coming to USC.

Fresno State plays USC in 2026 (and 2028). If Helton doesn’t take care of Riley next year, maybe Entz can finish the job.
