I’m getting tired of hearing someone in the transfer portal was a four-or-five star prospect or top 300 player nationally.
Is it just possible they were overhyped by the recruiting services?
- What do Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock, Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Christian Roland-Wallace, Arizona State safety Xavion Alford, Alabama cornerback Domani Jackson and Nebraska cornerback Ceyair Wright have in common?
They all got better after they left USC.
That’s what happens when you are no longer coached by Alex Grinch and Donte Williams.
Bullock leads NFL rookies in interceptions. Alford was first team All-Big 12 Conference. Roland-Wallace is getting playing time with the best team and one of the best secondaries in the NFL and forced a fumble Sunday. Wright has more interceptions and almost as many tackles this season at Nebraska as in three seasons at USC.
Here’s a note on Jackson, who was considered a disappointment at USC. He was selected as a defensive (skill) player of the week by the Crimson Tide coaches for his efforts against Wisconsin, Georgia, LSU, Mercer and Auburn.
