USC’s NIL Dilemma: Are They Spending Wisely?

So USC could afford to pay a reserve defensive lineman from Georgia (Jamaal Jarrett) around $500,000 but doesn’t have enough NIL money to compete nationally?

A reserve tackle at Georgia who mad three tackles gets half a million but USC supposedly doesn’t have the money to keep tailback Quentin Joyner? Something doesn’t make sense with the conventional wisdom about USC’s NIL.

Or else Lincoln Riley is allocating the money in crazy ways. Anything’s possible, I guess.

  • Some fanboys are bragging USC’s added 700 pounds to the defensive line through the portal. Does that compare to the 1,400 pounds of muscle the team added last offseason?

My point is I like to brag about these things when players play and make contributions, not beforehand.

  • There’s an element of USC fans who appear oblivious to the fact the Trojans are 6-6 and instead are talking about how they could compete with the teams in the College Football Playoff. Apparently one of the “facts” was the close game with Penn State.

Did Maryland or Minnesota make the CFP?

USC still has a bowl game vs. Texas A&M and might finish 6-7 but people are bragging about how USC could compete against CFP and making bold predictions for next season. It’s unbelievable.

  • USC wide receiver Duce Robinson committed go Florida State. That’s the alma mater of his father, Dominic Robinson, a defensive back-wide receiver from Diamond Bar.
  • USC linebacker Raesjon Davis committed to Oregon State over the weekend.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

A memorable performance over the weekend as the Irish musician Hozier performed the Pogues’ Christmas classic, “Fairytale of New York” on Saturday Night Live.

  1. Fringe lunatics is what the announcer said about Ohio St’s fanbase who cannot take 4 losses in a row to Michigan. And Alabama didn’t even make the field and there is big anger down there- And Wiley thinks he has it tough in comparatively laid-back LA

    1. The Guatemalan who burned a woman to death on a New York City subway is an illegal alien who was previously deported by the Trump Administration in June 2018.

The Guatemalan illegal, Sebastian Zapeta, crossed into the US in Arizona on June 1, 2018 and was deported a few days later on June 7, 2018.

Zapeta then reentered the US illegally as a ‘gotaway’ at an unknown time and location and roamed around freely thanks to Senile Joe and Kamala.

      1. Completely understandable. Because as John stated just above, they expect immediate rewards. Not having to work towards goals in a long term way.

This young man is full of rage because he didn’t get his immediate rewards after coming here.

  5. Not many top players changing schools based solely on NIL. They still want to be in a championship program. Does anyone think Montana State could offer double to every starter on Ohio State and get them to transfer to Bozeman?
