USC New Year’s Buzz: A Memorable Streak Ends

From the Rose Bowl: “(Sports writer) Art Spander is not present today due to health reasons, ending a streak of 70 consecutive times he has attended the Rose Bowl. His first was in 1954; he began as a vendor and a spectator.”

Spander reportedly has an eyesight issue. He should just be like the USC fan who pretends his consecutive game streak exists even though he missed multiple games in 2020.

  • USC wide receiver Charles Ross has entered the transfer portal. He caught only one pass this season after transferring from San Jose State.
  • Michigan, with its meek passing game, defeated Alabama, Ohio State and USC. It shows the importance of defense. Lincoln? Lincoln?
  • Bryce James, the son of LeBron James, has committed to Arizona. He is a three-star guard according to Rivals. Will he do interviews?

      1. Yeah, that kid did nothing to move his head to the right or left. Dead center, on a defenseless receiver. Two elements that are the definition of targeting.

But you can’t leave it to the refs. You’ve got to beat an opponent convincingly enough that they aren’t the DECIDING factor.
