USC Morning Buzz: Nothing Like A Transfer Twist

Former USC offensive guard Emmanuel Pregnon has committed to Oregon.

Now that’s a twist considering Tennessee and Colorado were the supposed frontrunners.

Do the people who hate Oregon for their NIL money also root for the Dodgers, who have the highest payroll?

  • It’s going to be interesting to see how a couple former USC defensive linemen — Elijah Hughes and Bear Alexander — develop at Notre Dame and Oregon next season. USC plays both teams next season.
  • Boise State wide receiver Prince Strachan is expected to transfer to USC. Strachan caught 37 passes for 578 yards and three touchdowns over the past two seasons
  • USC lost out on Purdue cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove, who had three interceptions last season. He will transfer to Arizona State.
  • If only USC were so lucky as to have Lincoln Riley as the fifth-best candidate to get the Dallas Cowboys job, like according to BetOnline:

  1. Unfortunate to see USC losing three players to top 10 programs. Bear perhaps had/has issues. If he delivers at Oregon, then that will say something about the USC defensive coaching staff.

  2. Kids play football to win. It’s a bruising sport and losing is unacceptable. So if the money is the same, why shouldn’t the ex-SC guy want to go to winning Oregon (except against Ohio St.)

Except of course odds are that the Ducks’ Buck had more ‘cluck’– but the college money-side situation is that the market is working its way through so there will be some constancy–say, a guard is worth $250,000 and a tackle a bit more. And then the kids might again go to the school of their dreams (hopefuly SC)

After a fire that never should have happened burned thousands of houses to the ground in a liberal enclave of Los Angeles through a combination of Democrat incompetence and more Democrat incompetence, you might ask yourself whether the deep blue people of Los Angeles are ever going to come to their senses and start electing people who aren’t a bunch of communist morons more concerned with Ghana junkets and lesbian representation at the fire department then with actually doing their jobs.https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2025/01/13/there-is-no-bottom-for-blue-california-n2650357

  4. Hughes already made an impressive leap from ’23-’24. This is what allowed him to be a desirable transfer option. SC’s defensive improvement was strikingly improved from ’23…. Very impressive!

    1. Elijah Hughes works hard, has gotten bigger and improved, but he does not have the size to be a dominate interior defensive lineman. Compare Ohio State’s defensive lineman to other teams. They have run stoppers who push the pocket backwards so the quarterbacks cannot step into a throw. That is what USC is looking for in the middle. Hope this statement is rational.

  5. Scooter,

I hate the peking ducks and the dodgers. My question is, who do I hate the most and the options are:

    ugly ruins

    peking ducks

The angel dodgers. Hate the the dodgers so much that I used the English version of the cities name.
