USC Morning Buzz: Three-Point Plan For Success

Here is an interesting comment from Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork after the Buckeyes won the national title.

“You can have all the money, all the collectives you can have, but if you don’t have a foundation of leadership and culture and chemistry then it’s not going to matter. We’ve seen programs spend a lot of money, some even more than us and they didn’t reach this.”

The keys from above: Leadership; culture and chemistry.

How many of these qualities has Lincoln Riley excelled at while coaching at USC? His leadership has been awful. The culture is lacking. I’d only say the chemistry of the team seems to be adequate but its overwhelmed by the poor leadership and culture.

  • USC moved up 8 spots to 70th in the NET rankings after it defeated Nebraska on Wednesday night.

  1. The culture of CLR and USC football is as follows; beat the weak teams on the schedule, fold under pressure against the good teams, then make excuses for why USC lost and is a mediocre program.

  2. OSU had a clear talent advantage over every other team. The only teams that are in their ballpark are maybe Oregon and Texas. Teams with superior talent tend to win championships. And that superior talent was bought. Nobody goes to places such as Oregon over USC or Stanford for academics or the connections with alumni. They go for the cash. It appears the AD is trying to suggest they won because of reasons other than high payouts to recruits when the money was the primary factor.

      1. The OSU receiver room today would match up favorably to most NFL teams. Jeremiah Smith is on another level – virtually unguardable.

      2. Sounds like the good ole days with Pete Carroll 2 decades ago.The average national ranking for USC’s recruiting classes under Pete was 2.8, with the 2005 and 2006 groups both landing at No. 1 in the country.

Wrong. Today, all 48 Democratic senators voted against the Abortion Survivors Act, a piece of legislation that simply required doctors to treat babies who survived an abortion rather then letting them die of neglect. Evidently, the Democratic party likes killing babies. Absolutely sick.

  7. Hey SoCal, why don’t you explain the drop in inflation? Why talk politics on a USC blog? What is wrong with you? All politicians (like Trump and Newsome) are deplorable and devious, why pick a side when they won’t support you?

Funny how USC just hired the general manager from Notre Dame and there’s nothing but silence from Wolf? If your gonna criticize, then recognize the good behavior as well. I mean, you complain about D’anton Lynn not saving USC from losses that the offense burdened them with. . . but no credit from the LSU or Texas A&M losses.

Hopefully, this is allowed to be posted.
