USC Notes: Trojans Still Have Portal Needs

I’m hearing USC would still like to add to its secondary and offensive line via the transfer portal.

The line spot would likely be another tackle (if a quality prospect is available) either to start or add depth. Even though cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson is returning, USC still feels it needs to improve the secondary. And rightfully so.

  • Pete Carroll has his second class today. Any chance he gets the Raiders job?
  • Greenleaf, an original tenant of the USC Village, is gone. It was a rare sit-down restaurant that survived despite complaints about the high rents in the Village and foot traffic being lower-than-expected.

  1. Good idea to improve the offensive line so SC can estabish the run, and to strengthen the secondary in order to stop the run (and pass). Somebody over there knows what he is doing

    1. A shame reporters didn’t ask Joe who the “Big Guy” was in all of Hunter’s emails or why the 7 figure wires needed to be divvied up into smaller amounts and sent to almost 20 different LLCs. The biggest question they never asked Dementia Joe was why did Hunter complain to his own sister via text about “having to give half his income to pop”? Hunter never was able to state what services he provided for the companies or foreign individuals who sent those wires.

Of course the idiots who voted for Dementia Joe never concern themselves with that. They just pretended it never happened.

  3. If Carroll is able to wait just about one more year, then he may have a Head Coaching job at USC… Two at the longest. I think Riley is playoffs or bust if not in ’25, then ’26 at the latest

  4. Scooter and to the rest,

I saw 2 C-17’s coming in and parking at LAX today on 1/23/25. That is great news. That means the new sheriff is coming to town to take no prisioners. Trump will arrive tomorrow at LAX and go up to the palisades to inspect. i hope that weasel Newsom is there to get his ass kicked by Trump. Go Tump

      1. Lawsuit: Meritocracy abandoned to hire transgender, gay, black faculty at Northwestern University.

It’s an interesting experiment: The lawsuit cites three white male law professors applied to Northwestern.

This includes First Amendment expert Eugene Volokh, Ernest A. Young of Duke University’s Law School, and Ilan Wurman, a distinguished professor at The University of Minnesota Law School.

“As a result of the mandate, Northwestern University School of Law refuses to even consider hiring white male faculty candidates with stellar credentials, while it eagerly hires candidates with mediocre and undistinguished records who check the proper diversity boxes.” Well, maybe not that big a surprise.
