Check this out. On Sunday afternoon, USC played Illinois in women’s basketball while UCLA played Ohio State in men’s basketball.

The games started within 20 minutes of each other. The UCLA game was big because it honored Bill Walton.

Attendance:

USC vs. Illinois: 9,021

UCLA vs. Ohio State: 9,015

Who would bet the USC women would outdraw the UCLA men on the day Walton was honored?

What has happened to UCLA basketball attendance? It’s gone down for the past 3 seasons and even the Big Ten schedule hasn’t helped.

  11. — It is the football games we attended that we recall the most vividly, as in SC’s Matt Leinart’s debut game in 2003 at the projected No. 1 team the Auburn Tigers. The crowd was in an absolute frenzy, you couldn’t help but act a little crazy in there, and when the Tigers first appeared thru the smoke it was “Game On!,” except once the game started the excitement died a slow death until the second half it turned into ugly booing (come on, it’s college kids out there)

    On the other side were Carrot and Leinart thinking that with their team they might be on to something
