USC Notes: He’s Baaaaack (Maybe)

Larry Scott, who has thankfully been out of the spotlight, is a candidate to become commissioner of the LPGA, according to Sports Business Journal.

Annika Sorenstam has backed Scott for the job.

“Larry has been a friend of ours for nearly 20 years,” Sorenstam said in a statement to SBJ. “He actually advised us with my brand and our foundation when we got started.”

Sorenstam is obviously no fan of college football. Or didn’t have DirecTV during the existence of the Pac-12 Network.

Will Scott demand a private jet fly him from Contra Costa County Airport every weekend to LPGA events?

  • The Big Ten has forced Northwestern to forfeit women’s basketball games with USC and UCLA that the Wildcats did not play last month because they decided not to fly to Los Angeles because of concerns surrounding the wildfires.

Notably, Penn State flew out and played both games during that time.
