USC Saturday Buzz: Most Ridiculous Item Of Day

Have you heard of Malik Mutumbo, a 6-11, 413 pound offensive lineman from South Africa, who is reportedly attending a school in Massachusetts?

He allegedly got a mention in the Boston Globe newspaper.

He even claims he got an offer from USC.

Just one problem: He doesn’t exist. But he has a twitter account and keeps posting that he is getting college offers.

Great job, social media!!!

  • Jon Chu, who directed the movie “Wicked” will deliver the commencement address at USC on May 15th. Chu was scheduled to deliver the address last year until you-know-who canceled commencement.

    “Federal judge Beryl Howell has reinstated former NLRB Chair Gwynne Wilcox, ruling that her firing by President Donald Trump violated federal law. The court found that Trump lacked the authority to dismiss NLRB members at will. Wilcox had filed a lawsuit challenging her removal last month.

    Howell wrote, “The President does not have the authority to terminate members of the National Labor Relations Board at will, and his attempt to fire plaintiff from her position on the Board was a blatant violation of the law.”

    Howell added, “An American President is not a king — not even an ‘elected’ one — and his power to remove federal officers and honest civil servants like plaintiff is not absolute, but may be constrained in appropriate circumstances, as are present here.”

    2. So according to this judge, if you work for the Federal government you have life time employment. You can’t be terminated for incompetence or lack of production. Even officers can’t be fired.
