USC Morning Buzz: A Spring Practice Ritual Arrives On Schedule

The first day of spring practice is when obvious things are proclaimed as news.

Eric Gentry gained 10 pounds!

Lincoln Riley said true freshman QB Husan Longstreet “is further ahead than most freshmen at this time” because he attended some bowl practices and team meetings in December.

Is this news?

Here’s the only question regarding Longstreet: Will Riley put him in a game if Jayden Maiava struggles the first half of the season? That’s what matters.

  • Defensive end Anthony Lucas, who got injured last season, will not go full contact during spring practice, according to Riley.
  • Snoop Dogg will be the USC Marshall School of Business commencement speaker for the class of 2025. He will deliver his remarks on May 17 at the Coliseum.
  • USC did not just hire Rob Ryan as an assistant coach. They hired his son, Matthew, as a defensive analyst.

    DON: Two months ago in January, Carolla predicted that the rebuilding process after the California wildfires would be a nightmare because of the One Party Democrat Machine/Governor Mimbo policies in the state. He said it would be near to impossible to get a building permit.

    It has now been 75 days since the fires. How many building permits have been issued for Pacific Palisades? FOUR. Not 400, not 40. FOUR.

    It looks like Adam Carolla pretty much called it.

    1. May I state the obvious? “The Plan” was [and is]: drive the residents out and move high rise developers in. We’ve already seen The Plan in action here in Maui. No one is allowed to rebuild— fire victims are leaving for California, Oregon and Washington.

      How else do you explain Hawaii’s governor signing an executive order transferring all private property to the state “in the event of a catastrophe” ONE month before the fire? Or the lack of water pressure nullifying fire department efforts?

      Sad fact: No One will be held responsible for this. The dems are too “worried” about an Atlantic Magazine editor being left on secure calls [in a communications system inherited from the biden administration]….
