Morning Buzz: Does USC Stand A Chance Today?

Does USC have a chance to upset UConn today?

The Trojans defeated Kansas State on Saturday despite the fact seniors Kiki Iriafen andd Talia von Oelhoffen combined for nine points. But freshmen Kennedy Smith, Avery Howell and Kayleigh Heckle had 45 points.

UConn is an entirely different opponent than Kansas State, of course. USC and UConn met in last year’s Elite Eight and played earlier this season. Both those games included JuJu Watkins.

USC President Carol Folt managed to get up to Spokane this weekend to watch the Trojans. She’s got two months left as school president.

  • Former USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams married his long-time girlfriend, Hailey Lott, over the weekend. She is the daughter of former USC safety Ronnie Lott.
  • For what it’s worth, USC is one of five finalists for five-star basketball star Brayden Burries of Corona Roosevelt. The others are Arizona, Oregon, Alabama and Tennessee.

Burries told ESPN he will make his decision within the next two weeks.

  1. Leonard Williams and the daughter of Ronnie Lott. Those are some football blood lines. Perhaps Luca Brasi can make a wedding toast:

Don Corleone, I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughter’s wedding… and I hope their first child be a masculine child. I pledge my ever-ending loyalty

With those blood lines, we want a masculine child and lots of them.

      (1) Don’t drink toasts with strangers in empty bars…(2) Even if you do & somebody happens to put a knife through your hand, you can still fight back with the other hand…
