Saturday Buzz: An Underwhelming Draft For USC

Did you go to the spring scrimmage today? Oh wait, never mind.

So we have only two USC players drafted so far (Jaylin Smith, Woody Marks) both by the Houston Texans.

How underwhelming is that? USC is the pLAce to be according to every social media post put out by the university’s athletic dept. but Lincoln Riley has two players drafted? How is that possible after three years?

Oregon, which also has a coach who just finished his third year, had 10 players drafted, including two in the first round. The fanboy media won’t point that out.

Oh, and Oregon has a spring game today. Somehow, Dan Lanning thinks his team will survive with people watching them play.

  1. Riley has been a complete fail with recruiting so Jan had to bring in a GM for Mr. Control Freak so SC could actually have very good high school players instead of a roster full of portal players

  2. Riley didn’t recruit and develop either player. Smith was a Helton recruit and Marks was a transfer. And Smith did not really develop until Grinch was fired and Lynn moved him from Nickel to cornerback a year ago where he thrived. Can’t think of many players Riley developed. Not Miller Moss, Zachariah Branch, or Deuce Robinson. How about Bear Alexander? Monheim was good under Helton. Maybe Makai Lemon, Jacobi Lane, Elijah Paige, and Alani Noa.

    DON: Pollster Frank Luntz spoke to a panel made up of Trump supporters. He seemed to want to goad them into admitting regret for voting for Trump based on economic policy, specifically tariffs.

    Instead, no one regrets anything. Most of them seem completely willing to pay more for products made in America. Everyone seems confident that the stock market will eventually self-correct.

    Luntz is positively stunned. The panel clearly didn’t go the way he was expecting. Cowardly Gabby is hardest hit!
