USC Notes: The Game’s Awash In Money

Indiana is paying its strength coach, Derek Owings, $900,000 a year after he was pursued by USC. The money being burned in college athletics is incredible.

General manager Chad Bowden makes $1 million at USC. Defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn makes more than $2 million. Penn State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles makes $3.1 million.

USC basketball is paying Maryland transfer Rodney Rice $3 million.

  • The USC men’s track team remains ranked No. 1 in the nation despite losing the dual meet vs. UCLA last weekend.
  • This video of Caleb Williams is making the rounds but no one notices that’s John Jackson III, the former USC wide receiver, with him in Miami.

  1. Rodney Rice is not worth three million. Basketball doesn’t generate the type of revenue or interest to justify anything near this sum.

Gabby: I didn’t use the term “white guy.” The CEO of Ocean Gate used the term white guy. I suppose that reading comprehension isn’t one of your strengths. But since you brought my wife into it, something that you would never do if we met face to face, let’s meet up Mr. keyboard tough guy or are you going to chicke&*^*t out like you normally do. I work out at a boxing gym in Pasadena, CA. Name a date and time and I will make a reservation.

  3. Don’t know why the Caleb video went viral. Maybe it shows that he doesn’t have a lot of class. Can’t dress appropriately for a date and spends his time on the cell phone and not paying attention to the girls.

      1. The ‘guy’ who keeps asking questions “for a friend” is sucking the life outta life…..

      2. “Asking for a friend” is just another way for her to hide behind the question. The same way she accuses others of what she is guilty. She enjoys lobbing freaky accusations at others, only because she enjoys those freaky things and loves to see it written in black & white.

    1. KAM: Senile Joe Biden and Mayor Pete celebrated their infrastructure bill. 1.2 TRILLION dollars. The largest infrastructure package known to man. They claimed it was going to change America. They spent less than 1 percent of the money on fixing our air traffic control system. They ignored the warnings.

DON: Instead, they spent their time injecting social justice and climate equity crap into everything.

  4. –And it seems things haven’t changed around here, with MG and So Cal still miixing it up with ‘You know Who’

But to change the subject, college football is big business and that takes big money, so these salaries are not out of line

    1. KAM: Mob of illegal alien teens—suspected Tren de Aragua gang members—attack NYPD officers in Times Square. One of them, just 12 years old, is believed to be the ringleader of an illegal alien robbery crew behind a string of Central Park muggings. So sad, in 2010 Central Park was as safe as Disneyland.

DON: The 12 year old illegal alien gang member was arrested last August and released with no real consequences due to the state’s lax juvenile system.

      1. Gabby — Where is your compassion? If 12 year olds can’t attack and injure police officers anytime they choose without mean-spirited repercussions I don’t know what this country is coming to…..

      2. Exactly why I laughed at people not sharp enough to realize OJ’s Las Vegas case was payback. He did nothing violent, didn’t have a gun AS ANOTHER PERSON DID. Yet he did the most time.

We see it every day, violent thugs either not being charged or getting a slap on the wrist.

    2. “You know who.” What a wonderful way of referring to “someone.”

Hey, John —what did you do on your “vacation”?

  5. Another aspect of ‘Pay to Play’ college footballers is that it might produce even better athletes. For example, ‘I gotta keep pushing myself, I stand to be a millionaire after high school’
