USC Morning Buzz: It Helps To Have Influential Friends

It wasn’t too surprising when I wrote Lincoln Riley apparently never visited Pete Carroll’s class at USC.

But here is something else to consider: Jen Cohen was in Seattle for 25 years before she came to USC. Pete Carroll was in Seattle from 2010-2023. They obviously got to know each other (probably through Steve Sarkisian).

One thing Carroll has always been good at is inserting himself into situations behind the scenes. He tried to get Jeff Tedford the Nebraska job when Cal was giving USC fits because he wanted Tedford out of the Pac-10.

So there is little doubt he has talked to Cohen about Sir Lincoln of Riley. And Riley is probably aware of it. It would have been smart of Riley to embrace Carroll for political reasons when he arrived at USC but he seems to lack that social skill.

So an appearance at the class would have been awkward — for Riley.

This is what happens when you operate in a bunker. You don’t have a circle of support to help champion you when things go south.

      1. Hilarious that anyone would be stupid enough to continually knock Trump after she voted for the worst President in American History. Someone who qualified for the 25th Amendment on Day 1 of his presidency.

        June 27 the Big Lie of 2020 about Joe being fit for office was exposed. They knew he couldn’t beat Trump in an HONEST ELECTION, in which voters had the facts about who their candidate really was. They had no choice but to force him out.

Remember back in March when you tried to explain to Cowardly Gabby that the vain Newsom commissioned a bust to be made of him when he was Mayor of San Francisco using “behested payments” – contributions from donors that politicians ask them to make on their behalf – to help fund the statue. and she couldn’t understand it and she kept insisting it didn’t matter because the statue was finished after Newsom’s second term ended? That was really pathetic.

    2. Clooney knew that Biden was mentally unfit for the Presidency but did not come forward until after the debate when it became clear that he could not beat Trump. He was fine with a shadow Presidency that lasted four years and severely damaged the country. He along with Soros, Zuckerberg and others funded the shadow Presidency and yet claim Trump is a threat to Democracy.

    As of Monday, the national average price was $3.02 a gallon, down 1.3 cents compared with a week ago.
