It’s Do-Or-Die For USC Baseball Today

USC plays Oregon State today at 3 p.m. PT and the winner goes to the Super Regional. The game is supposed to be on ESPNU but who knows with the way ESPN handles college baseball.

Sunday night’s game got switched to ESPN2 about 30 minutes before the first pitch.

The Trojans lost to Oregon State, 14-1, and the second inning was a debacle. USC took itself out of a potentially big inning when third base coach Travis Jewett waved home a runner from first on a double. The runner was out at the plate, so instead of having runners at second-and-third base with no outs, USC had a runner at second with one out.

USC’s defense faltered in the bottom of the second inning as the third baseman fielded a bunt that was going foul and then dropped it. Another bunt was fielded too late to throw a runner out at the plate.

Oregon State had four bunts and four runs in the second inning.

It’s winner take all today.

    Now, the West Coast physician is officially walking away from her practice, overwhelmed by frustration and a glaring lack of urgency from city officials.

    ‘We are living in hell,’ Soliman told the outlet.

    Located in a Huntington Park neighborhood, Soliman’s family medicine practice sits next to a multi-level parking garage.

    However, the parking garage in question is notoriously a hotspot for the local homeless population – and alarmingly, it provides easy access to the rooftop of the doctor’s office.

    For years, the self-employed doctor has endured the homeless encampment consistently taking over her building’s roof – stealing electricity, stripping scrap metal from air conditioning units and even starting trash fires.

    As recently as Tuesday, a fire broke out atop the parking structure, forcing crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department to rush in and extinguish the blaze.

    But this incident is far from isolated. It appears to simply be the breaking point in Soliman’s long-running struggle.

    1. My cousin and her husband owned a restaurant in San Dimas for 40+ years. They had an outdoor patio with security camera’s. They could see bums taking showers with their garden hose, crapping in the patio area and leaving drug paraphernalia behind after the restaurant closed. This didn’t happen in the first 15 or so years of them owning the place, the last 25 years, ugh. They sold this year and are glad to be done with it.

A few years ago, Newsom claimed that the post card for a homeless person is the single mom who was abandoned by her husband, lost her fast food minimum wage job, couldn’t pay her rent and was evicted from her apartment and now finds herself and her daughter on the streets. Another lie. The post card is what Dr. Soliman described. A bunch of drug addicts, mostly men of working age, who choose not to work or clean themselves up, and go about terrorizing the neighbors they inhabit for years. Our beloved homeless are responsible for 85% of the fires in LA County. We need to remove this vermin and put them in cages to force them to dry up.

    1. I agree with almost every word, Plow….[but I’ll have to think about that last sentence —there may be better ways—-a lot of these folks are not citizens of the United States].

      I guess you saw that Hawaii’s Governor, Josh Green[e]? [I repress names I hate], is gonna start taxing our hotels out of existence [literally, the only thing Hawaii has going for it] to pay for more “programs to curb the warming that is leading to brush fires.” There are multiple eyewitness reports of widespread arson in each of Maui’s most devastating fires. No arrests. Just talk of the horrors of global warming…and the need to spend billions curbing it.

On 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25.

  9. Yeah Scotty, if SC had scored 6 in the 2nd inning they would have only lost 14-7, I think the lack of pitching was the bigger issue
