Morning Buzz: Anxious Time For Some USC Fans

USC season-ticket holders were supposed to find out yesterday afternoon who got tickets for coveted road games like Notre Dame, Nebraska and Oregon.

But the deadline passed without any notices on the road games. Of course. Can’t say I’m surprised.

One reason it matters is because some fans are actually worried about attending what is potentially the last USC-Notre Dame game. Not that the powers that be at USC care about that.

  • USC outfielder Brayden Dowd has entered the transfer portal. He was second on the team with 10 home runs and third in batting average (.324). I’m not at all impressed by the way baseball has lost transfers and not brought in transfers. I suspect NIL is the culprit here.
  • There are whispers around campus an ominous announcement might be coming. Could it be some type of sanctions from the federal govt. in its recent attacks on universities?

  1. KAM Insanity: ESPN Announcer Apologizes for Calling America ‘Great’ During WNBA Broadcast. Calling America “great” is apparently a flagrant foul in the WNBA.

    ESPN basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo was essentially forced to eat her words after an off-the-cuff comment led to some awkward seconds of silence during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

    Not only did she backtrack on calling her own country “great,” she actually apologized afterward. And the public backlash has been scathing.

  2. Just In: The “ominous” announcement is: Not only will we be cancelling next year’s game against Notre Dame, we will be cancelling this year’s as well. “Forfeits don’t hurt playoff chances as much as blow out losses. Forfeits go down as 3-0 defeats —that’s nothing!” said Coach Lincoln Riley.

    I’m getting such a kick out of the criticism that Trump didn’t solve all the Middle East’s problems with his recent bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites. Of course he didn’t. The last guy made a mess so big NO ONE can solve the whole thing.

LA has a Fidel Castro loving communist mayor who allowed the city to burn and riot, and Governor Mimbo is an incompetent bumbler. SF had the communist London Breed as mayor, but has a new mayor trying to bring it back from the ungovernable and unlivable depths.     I’m a graduate of USC (Masters of Acct) and have followed this blog for well over 20 years but never left any comments. I have been following USC v ND tradition which may come to an end. Without going into detail due to confidentiality issues…I do have contact with “interim” president and I let him know that I believe it would be in their best interest to make a public statement saying “as long as I’m the president we will continue our tradition of playing football against ND”. Today I received this message..”consider it done”.

    Let’s hope for the best
