USC Gives Andy Stankiewicz Contract Extension, So Will It Commit To Baseball?

USC announced baseball coach Andy Stankiewicz has signed a contract extension through the 2030 season.

The extension is not a surprise but did Stankiewicz extract any commitments from USC in terms of improved NIL or resources? Several of USC’s best players have transferred out, disillusioned over the way USC has treated the baseball program.

A contract extension solves a potential headache for USC because it doesn’t want to have to hire another baseball coach. But does it want USC to become a national power again? How many scholarships will USC commit to for baseball now that NCAA rules will allow as many as 34? These are the important issues USC must address, when it isn’t fawning over Lincoln Riley’s every wish.

  1. I am pleased and a bit surprised that Stankiewicz signed an extension. He has been treated liked a red haired stepchild by Cohen and the administration. Now give him some players.

  2. Now that scholarship limitations can no longer be used as an excuse, will the Administration step up so USC baseball can once again be a power ?

    My guess is……… No

      1. SC is so screwed with Riley, his contract is something they can’t buy out for years unless a booster steps up.

Jen may get shown the new when the new President arrives

Bowden has been worth the money, no way Riley recruits this class, no way

  3. No one wants to play for him. Look at the transfers out and the

few stars that signed pro contracts. The final 2 games vs. Oregon St. was a disgrace. Extension to 2030 ridiculous. Go to the South where the real Head Coaches live and work.

  4. Well, thats a little harsh commentary on ol’ ‘Stan’, he has helped SC baseball to have a couple of pretty fair seasons. Players like to play for good coaches. ‘The Three Trojan’ transfer-outs were probably because of NIL factors; SC won’t pay big for baseball

But there is still the Dodgers. However, the team is not up to expectations– offense is good enough but don’t forget pitching

    1. KAM: Do you bother to read the standings? The Dodgers have the second best record in MLB right now and are 19 games above .500.

      DON: Such ignorance is embarrassing.

Hope Trump offers him a billion dollars a year for life to live in a palace in Dubai with lots of security…….

DON: I rather prefer to recall the sign he had on his home’s front door– “Come on in girls, and leave all hope behind”

    1. KAM: The University of San Diego is advancing a broad slate of Democrat Party DEI gender ideology initiatives through its official policies, housing, and staff training programs. One university guideline recommends eliminating binary phrases like ‘the men and women in this room’ and encourages faculty to interrupt microaggressions and normalize pronoun sharing.

The university claims its gender ideology is rooted in Catholic doctrine, stating that the initiative is “grounded in cura personalis (care for the whole person)” and part of a broader institutional commitment to “Diversity, Inclusion, & Social Justice.”

USD’s Gender Inclusive Housing policy also accommodates students living with individuals “who share their identity or who are affirming of their identity,” regardless of sex, effectively permitting men and women to share rooms.

DON: The Democrat run school’s “Guidelines for Gender Inclusive Design” instruct faculty and staff to adapt all programming and marketing to avoid causing “a painful reminder” for individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.

    1. KAM: Democrats Aren’t Hiding It Anymore: They Plan to Rig the System.

Democrats have dropped all pretense—they’re openly plotting to seize and rig the system the instant they claw back power. This isn’t quiet maneuvering in smoke-filled rooms. It’s a bold, almost taunting declaration that the rules no longer apply to them, and that the very foundations of fair governance are expendable.

In Texas, Democrats staged one of their most brazen stunts yet, fleeing the state in a calculated bid to break quorum and derail a Republican redistricting plan aimed at reflecting Texas’s actual political makeup. And at a rally in Fort Worth, former Congressman Beto O’Rourke didn’t just cheer them on—he glorified their stunt as the new standard for political resistance, cementing defiance and chaos as the left’s playbook.

O’Rourke’s rally was less a call for democracy and more a manifesto for raw political power. He openly labeled Republican lawmakers “fascists” and boasted about preemptive strikes, declaring, “We don’t await the punch thrown by these would-be fascists to land. We punch first and we punch harder.”

DON: His message was clear: rules be damned, Democrats will redraw districts in states they control—California, New Jersey, Illinois, Maryland—so they maximize their advantage wherever possible.

“There are no refs in this game,” O’Rourke said flatly. “F*** the rules. We are gonna win, whatever it takes.”

      1. Look at what the dems are for — no photo I.D. voting, seizure of means of production, unlimited benefits for illegals, free “gender transformations” for children — the only thing missing are bumper stickers saying “Die Yankee Pigs”…..

      2. Right MG: The party who cooks up a phony Russian collusion story with Soros/Clinton money, gets the intelligence community to run with it even though they know it is phony, spends 30 million on a fake investigation, leaks false so called classified information to the press, colludes with social media platforms to censor stories on Covid and election interference, advocates for a dept. of misinformation, mandates vaccines, shuts down schools, businesses and churches for about a year, deliberately refuses to enforce immigration laws for political reasons, falsely claims the laptop was Russian disinformation and get 51 intelligence agents to sign off on it, jails Bannon and Navarro for contempt, gets the FBI to investigate parents who question school curriculum, investigates those who attend a Latin mass, file phony criminal charges against the leading Republican candidate, try to bankrupt the candidate through phony claims of fraud, and tries to take their opponent off the ballot are accusing the opposition party of being undemocratic fascists. You can’t make this up.
