Ed Orgeron Wants To Coach Again

Former USC coach Ed Orgeron has not coached for four years but would like that to change.

“I think it’s time . . . I’m getting the itch again,” Orgeron told the Pardon My Take podcast.

Sooner or later, all coaches want to coach again. There would definitely be a program interested in him as a defensive line coach. The question is whether Orgeron would really want to put in the hours. If he does, he could be coaching again in 2026.

  1. Coach Henderson is relatively young and ambitious. He probably wants to be a college head coach or NFL or college defensive coordinator. He won’t be at USC much longer. Put coach O’s name in the rolodex. Very good evaluator of talent and excellent recruiter.

  2. Orgeron can find the talent, he can coach the talent, he is not head coach material despite him winning a NC but his biggest problem is his lack of self control.

    Orgeron will never coach at USC again, never, the wokesters will not allow it

    2. Rumor was that Coach O liked to step out with the very young ladies. He left his second wife in Louisiana when he came to coach at USC and lived at the USC Hotel. He is now on his third wife.

      6. Karma: It was all a misunderstanding. Ed was pumping gas and the lady was behind him waiting for him to finish. Ed said “do you need a pump because I have a long hose and can help you out.” She took it the wrong way when Ed was just trying to be chivalrous. She was probably one of those college educated liberal women who find a man’s offer to help to be crude and offensive. Of course, it could have been the mother of a recruit.

    1. The ‘title’ part is easy- peasy. If Ed were to come back, as essentially a position coach, we call him “Super-Duper Coordinator.”

      The hard to imagine part is: Ed working under Lincoln Riley [who represents EVERYTHING Ed despises]……

  5. Can you imagine USC hiring Urban Meyer to be the head coach and then he tabs Eddie O to be his D line coach/ co head coach ?

    The #Metoo screwballs would be in full rage mode, women’s groups all over the country would be calling for their removal not to mention the LAPD and LA County Sheriff would be on full tactical alert for all the felons Meyer would recruit, but SC would win !!

    It’s all about winning, right ?

    1. Ed O has nothing on the medical dean. The guy made the George Clooney character on ER look like a boy scout. He plied a bunch of very young co-eds with all sorts of drugs and alcohol, legal and illegal, and had sex with them at the Hotel Pasadena for days at a time. But the guy raised more money for the university than any other teacher in the medical school. So under the Max Nikias rule, he was dean. At least he wasn’t promoted through DEI.

        [btw, The Med Dean’s 911 call for medical assistance for the 18 year old who passed out at a Pasadena motel with him couldn’t have been more nonchalant. He clearly didn’t care about her welfare]…..

The “forgivable” loan thing has been a money maker for dem lawyers, accountants and politicians going back to Clinton — in Los Angeles they didn’t even keep records of the loans given to developers cuz everyone knew they would NEVER be repaid…. it was all property tax money given out to developers saying they were building low cost housing….who, then, built high rise office buildings ……
