USC’s team photo taken over the weekend contained a whopping 63 staff members compared to 109 players.
I won’t get specific but some of these people do not belong in the photo, which should include coaches and essential personnel but not people on the periphery of the program. You can see here.
The 1972 undefeated national championship USC team photo had 21 coaches, trainers, equipment personnel and managers plus the players. And somehow this is arguably the greatest team in USC history. How did they manage with so little help?
- I didn’t notice before but it looks like the Rivals.com USC site no longer exists following a takeover by On3. This means two less beat writers for USC this season as The Athletic has also stopped covering USC.
Maybe more troubling, it seems more fans are officially covering the team with little or no knowledge of USC/basic journalism.
So Trojan football accelerates from 21 staff members in 1972 to 63 in 2025, which only proves that jobs go where the money is

–And speaking of where the money is, there are apparently something like 24 walk-ons, each with a dream of making the team and maybe even making some money

So some SC fans with no journalistic background are officially covering the team, whereas on Wolf’s blog the posters are all Unofficially covering the team

With Riley’s closed practices nobody officially or unofficially truly covers the team.

LOL That was a great laugh to begin the week… Which forums have you been visiting lately, Scott? I would love for you to critique my armchair analysis. :))

I can officially tell you that some of the newest fan forums are ALREADY wearing thin —with the same “I’m afraid of my audience” sound in their voices each time they introduce themselves….and the same ‘pretend’ chuckles every other sentence….

KAM: The Texas Democrat lawmakers who fled the state in a dramatic walkout to block Republican redistricting plans have announced their return, ending a two-week standoff and paving the way for the GOP to pass a new congressional map that strengthens conservative representation.
The walkout began on August 3, when 57 Democratic legislators left Austin to deny the Texas House a quorum, which requires at least 100 of the 150 members to be present to conduct business.
DON: Their goal was to stop the passage of a proposed redistricting map that could boost Republican Congressional districts from 25 to 30 while slashing Democrat-leaning ones from 12 to eight. They failed!

KAM: The choice is simple. Democrats want to prioritize hobos, druggies, illegal aliens, criminals and perverts, and Republicans want to prioritize normal people.
DON: Choose wisely.

KAM: WHY IS ACADEMIA SUCH A CESSPIT OF ANTI-SEMITISM AND HATE? The University of Oregon is presently engaged in a pattern of stonewalling and refusals to address complaints of unlawful anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli harassment and discrimination on campus.https://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2025/08/update-alleged-anti-israel-discrimination-at-university-of-oregon-law-review.htmllol
DON: This may be unsurprising, given that University of Oregon officials are all Mainstream Moderate Democrats and are often themselves the perpetrators of such acts. Shame on the Antisemite Democrat Party!
