USC-Misery State Friday Notes

Freshman defensive end Jahkeem Stewart and freshman cornerback Alex Graham are out for Saturday’s game against Misery State.

Sophomore cornerback Chasen Johnson is a game-time decision.

  • Colorado State long-snapper Walker Himebauch is the son of former USC center Jonathan Himebauch.
  • Tickets on the secondary market for USC-Missouri State start at $13. USC is favored by 35.5 points.
  • Drake London will lead USC out of the tunnel Saturday.
  • Here is something Jen Cohen told the L.A. Times regarding the Notre Dame game: “It’s not very typical that a P4 school would travel back and forth across the country for a nonconference game in the middle of October.”

This mindset is a problem. USC built its football program by not being “typical” and never backing down from a challenge. This is the mentality of someone who grew up thinking the Apple Cup was the biggest game of the year.

My question: Is it typical for any P4 across the nation to have an intersectional rivalry as unique as USC-Notre Dame?

  • USC women’s tennis coach Alison Swain has signed a contract extension through the 2028 season. This is a program that used to win NCAA titles under Dave Borelli.
  • Former USC QB Carson Palmer earned his first win as a high school coach Thursday night as Santa Margarita defeated Corona Centennial, 33-27, in OT. Wide receiver Trent Mosley, a USC commit, left the game with an injury and wore a walking boot.

  1. The biggest victory USC could score in Saturday’s otherwise meaningless game against Missouri State: no Trojan gets injured…

      1. An accounting error ? Oh please. You couldn’t cover a $2500 check. You didn’t have a client trust account ?? You didn’t have any money ??????

      2. Look pal, you’re story has more holes in it than Swiss cheese, lots of contradicting info, and out and out falsehoods.

Any attorney who bounces a check to a client is incompetent and should be disbared. How can you not have a client trust account ? How can that account, where money is to be DEPOSITED FOR YOUR CLIENT , have non sufficient funds ? If you’re that stupid you shouldn’t be allowed to practice law.

    1. Pretty much, Buddha!

That’s why I’m considering tomorrow more about being Corso’s last day than it being USC’s first game,

  2. KAM: Bloomberg hardest hit:

“The US economy expanded in the second quarter at a slightly faster pace than initially estimated on a pickup in business investment and an outsize boost from trade. Inflation-adjusted gross domestic product, which measures the value of goods and services produced in the US, increased at a 3.3% annualized pace…That compared with an initially reported 3% increase.”

DON: I am wearing my USC shirt today, and so no one mistakes it for South Carolina, the shirt also has a picture of a Trojan

  4. KAM: Maybe the biggest game of the year already, Texas versus Ohio St., and they are starting the game at 9:00 on the West Coast. I can’t get used to these kickoff times

DON: I don’t sleep much and get up early, so ‘time’ doesn’t mean that much to me

  6. DON: Texas-Ohio St and 2 new quarterbacks about to be ‘seasoned’. They must now be awake and feeling pins-and-needles nervousness.

KAM: You know how you feel when your foot’s ‘asleep?’ Before a big rally I had that feeling all over my body. Maybe they’re going through that along with the ‘fear factor’ emotions, for afterall, it is a highly dangerous game they play

  7. DON: Meanwhile over at SC the 5-touchdown favored Trojans are busily calculating how many touchdowns they’ll each score

KAM: Not to be unkind, but did you know that if Riley played Misouri St every week, he’d go undefeated-

  9. DON: Ever think about baseball players and how during their season they play nearly every day, so unlike in football they don’t have to wait a week after a loss?

KAM: No, that never occurred to me

  10. DON: Did you catch where SC’s athletic director, ‘Ol Jen, gave a less than ringing endorsement of Wiley’s future: “…the expectations are to win” as in ‘Nothing personal Lincoln, but I got to let you go if you don’t win’

KAM: Let us not forget how SC lagged far behind other programs of SC’s stature, costing the loss of most great football players, but the Trojans are now setting the pace. “SC is entered into NIL agreements directly with students,” and those NIL contracts are now at market rate, resulting in an incredible 2026 class
