Pick The USC-Misery State Score

This is a rough one. USC is a 36-point favorite against a team playing its first FBS game.

Frankly, it’s an embarrassing opponent.

The issue is whether people will admit it. Lincoln Riley will not.

This should be a chance to see the new defensive line dominate an outmatched opponent. It should also allow Jayden Maiava plenty of TD’s without those pick sixes he threw last season.

This is a game to get everyone experience and not to reach many conclusions about.

      1. No, it wasn’t for that, MG. The owner of the blog was always bragging about living in Laguna Beach, and I retorted, “There is living in Laguna Beach and living on Laguna Beach”

  10. Will the defensive line dominate? Yes. What is the over/under on sacks? I say 3 and the line will cover. We should be able to get 3 turnovers as well. And I want to see us run for at least 200 yards.

    USC 48 to 6.

    Young player to watch – Tanook Hines. He will make us forget about that Branch kid who was so fast but was afraid to run. Looking forward to watching the new running backs as well.

        I really want us to score fast on our first drive and stop them from going beyond two series of downs on their first drive….as kinda a tone setter….

  11. In 2024, how many teams that scored more average points per game than the Trojans (30.2… there were 39 FBS teams that did) called run plays less often than pass plays? Hint: it is how many points USC should give up to Missouri State today…

    1. Giving up 13 or more to the bottom ranked team in the nation would not be that awesome……

      [The reason Missouri State earned that ranking, though, is not cuz their offense is the worst in the country —it’s cuz their defense is abysmal this season. We should be able to score in the fifties…..]

  14. We get to hear virtually everyone mis-pronounce our QB’s name all season. The same way they all mis-pronounced Maualuga’s name.
