USC is going to introduce Clay Helton when he leads his team out of the tunnel. What will the reaction be?

Clapping for Clay will be about sincere as this.

I think the dominant reaction will be silence. A few polite claps and a handful of boos, depending on how much the crowd has imbibed thus far.

Yes. The sound of one hand clapping mixed in with a few raspberry sounds.

At more than double the salary for LR, here is where they stand in terms of winning percentage at USC:
Lincoln .659
Helton .657

Anyone watching the Quacks vs. Oklahoma St?
It is about halfway through the first quarter, Quacks 20-0, they have about 250 yards of total offense already. It pencils out to about 1,800 yards for a full game. O-line is totally dominant.

The Quacks defensive backs look really good too. Height, long arms, and quickness. Didn’t hear Bear’s name called. Pregnon looks good.

Acrtually, Wiley has to win this game to obtain a tie with Ton-o-Hel, and one would hope that Clay might receive more clapping than booing. Like it or not, he is a large part of SC football history

I think defensive backs out of position was the biggest problem. And I think Georgia Southern’s offensive coordinator recognized the problem and exploited it. Good for them. Maybe it was a good thing that it showed in this game and can be corrected instead of a BIG game.

Who coaches the d-backs? I hope he tells them it’s not good football to grab guys around the waist when they get by you on the way to the endzone [I mean I’d rather have that than a TD …but…. I notice the d-backs at Penn State, Ohio State and Oregon do it a different way]….

USC is not a good football team, period.
ucla is awful, but the 2 teams they have played actually have a pulse.
8-4 for USC is maybe doable, but Mr. 11 million a year should be producing a far better team.

Georgia Southern amassed almost 400 yards of offense. Riley looked overjoyed at his post game presser …..cuz…he doesn’t understand what this means when we get to Big Ten play.

Is it possible that Georgia Southern is better than we thought. I liked their quarterback, receivers, and running back and their lineman were huge. Maybe giving up 20 points to such a team is not as bad as we think.

We will see. I think Georgia Southern could beat four or five teams in the BIG. They could clearly beat UCLA and Northwestern and maybe Purdue and/or Michigan State.

True. They did as well as we did against Nebraska last year.

what a difference a week makes…instead of improving SC got worse on defense of all things, the supposedly strong aspect of the team. The anticipated great secondary was anything but…and the ‘d’ line ? what the hell happened there. I take back my 9-3 or better potential, now it looks 8-4 or worse.

Exactly what I had predicted before the season started. 8-4, if we’re lucky.

We’ll beat Michigan at home ….but it’ll take a miracle to beat Illinois, Notre Dame and/or Oregon on the road.
9-3 is very doable. So is a nice bowl game. The playoffs aren’t in the picture until next year [if we keep our 2026 class together — which 9-3 should do]….

Mary was a surrogate mother? Blasphemy. Where did they get the fertilized egg that was implanted into her? Stop making things up. Jesus was Mary’s biological son. His blood was on the shroud of Turin. You can trace his genetic markers to Mary’s blood line.
