USC wins, 33-17, but it was a long day for the pass defense, which surrendered 305 yards to a bang-average offense.

Where are the people demanding USC be ranked? USC is 3-0 so OK. But today was supposed to be demonstration of strength.

Well, Purdue was headed toward a TD but it’s another INT for the QB. Bishop Fitzgerald earned his scholarship and NIL today

Purdue keeps shredding the secondary.

The secondary has been atrocious in the second half but it doesn’t matter when the Purdue QB is getting pick sixed by a 360-pound tackle.

And it’s halftime. My take: USC’s defense is not looking great but Purdue doesn’t have the offense to challenge it.

USC goes 75 yards in 13 plays and takes a 17-3 lead on 6-yard run by Waymond Jordan.

Purdon’t field goal makes it 10-3, USC

Maiava TD run makes it 10-0.

USC 3, Purdue 0. End of first quarter. USC ball on the Purdue 4-yard line.

Purdue marches right down the field and gets to the 3-yard line when Bishop Fitzgerald intercepts the pass in the end zone.

USC gets a big pass from Jayden Maiava to Ja’Kobi Lane but on third down from the 3-yard line, Lincoln Riley calls a swing pass that loses 4 yards. USC kicks FG for 3-0 lead.

Marcelles Williams started at cornerback for USC.

The latest estimate is the game could start at 3:45 p.m. PT.

Now the earliest start is 1:20 p.m. PT.

The delay is going to be even longer.

The game is delayed and stadium cleared because of lightning until at least 12:50 p.m. PT.

  6. I’d be okay with cancelling the game …and coming home to beat up on Michigan State as a warmup for Illinois….[I say that because family is here to watch the game and I don’t know if I can take several more hours]….

  14. We had a good pass rush but the defensive backs can’t cover. Too much cushion. And the transfer, Harvey, #2, was getting turned around. Had Fitzgerald not bailed us out with the two interceptions along with Big Boys interception and touchdown, we could have lost this game. And why can’t you run the ball against a three man front.
