Puck News reports that Netflix was interested in picking up the rights to a USC-Notre Dame.
The major problem — obviously — with this idea is USC and Notre Dame’s TV rights are not available. The Big Ten was reportedly unhappy with the approach from Netflix.
Now USC tried to circumvent its TV deals by moving the game out of the country — but the Big Ten TV partners “went berserk” according to Puck and conference shut it down.
Amazing that USC thought no one would mind its biggest game of the year is not available to its TV partners.
The game was going to be moved to Mexico City to try and skirt legal issues with ignoring its TV deals. Talk about gall by USC officials.
So Lincoln Riley — who doesn’t even want to play Notre Dame — would give up his home game against the Irish? Never.
But what this shows is USC’s most marketable game is Notre Dame, and the athletic dept. would be stupid to discontinue it.

It is getting to the point that college football is just a device for organizations and people to make money. The true sport has left. they play just so that everyone makes money. The spirit of the game is gone. It would be a sh%tshow if the nd vs sc game was on one of the money grabbers. Netflix can go fu$k themselves to eternity and back. I would not pay to see sc vs nd on netflix. It is not the same as having it on nbc or abc.
