USC Morning Buzz: It’s Michigan Week So Let’s Focus On Something Else

It’s Michigan Week!

So what is one of the first things Lincoln Riley does on his Monday night radio show (that he skipped last week)?

Complain about the officiating at the Illinois game . . . 10 days ago.

He’s still mad a holding penalty was not called on a 66-yard TD pass for Illinois.

“I know the one should have been a penalty and the league missed it,” Riley said. “It is what it is.”

Luckily, no bad calls went against Illinois, like the poor spot on the final play before the game-winning field goal, when the Illini had a first down but the refs marked the ball a few yards short.

  • USC’s pass defense moved up two spots and is now ranked No. 101 in the nation.
  • Here is a statement from Nick Sanchez, the older brother of Mark Sanchez and an attorney:

“This has been a deeply distressing time for everyone involved. Mark and our family are incredibly grateful for the concern, love, and support we’ve received over the past few days. Mark remains under medical care for the serious injuries he sustained and is focused on his recovery as the legal process continues. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the first responders and medical staff.”

  1. USC defense is something like 111th versus the pass this season, so please try a ball control offense with a focus on getting at least 4 on first down.

    And use 2 TEs!

    1. 2 things Pasadena —I hope (1) Michigan’s young QB, Bryce Underwood, has a peculiarly off day whether our line gets to him or not …and (2) I hope the Big Ten officiating isn’t in old guard Michigan’s pocket [Yes, Sybil —Big Ten officials actually favor the teams they have worked with for years over upstart USC—it’s not excessive, it just enough to tilt close games]…….

    1. Believe me —-Big Ten officials owe their allegiance to the old guard Big Ten teams they’ve worked alongside for years , not to USC’s hometown fans…..

  2. We get back Kamari Ramsey and Alex Graham. Our pass defense should improve. What bothers me is the run defense. Illinois pushed us three yards off the ball. They ran at will and Michigan has a better offensive line that Illinois. Keyshawn Silber, the big SEC transfer, needs to step up. So far he has been a huge disappointment.

      1. KAM: The truth comes out. Senile Joe Biden’s Stasi who claimed to be saving “our sacred democracy” in fact worked overtime to destroy it – all for power.

They spied on Catholic churches, prosecuted pro-lifers, deployed the FBI against parents at school board meetings – and tried to tap the phones of their political enemies.

This is an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, one that directly strikes at the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the First Amendment.

We need a full investigation of all involved: who knew about it, who ordered it, and who approved it. Anyone and everyone who violated the law must be prosecuted.

DON: The way to save the country is to purge the government of traitors like Cowardly Gabby and restore the rule of law.

If Trump is serious he needs to appoint a Special Counsel……no one presently in government can get it done….

John — I quite agree –when you’re at a bar and some guy, out of the blue, comes up to you & gets so angry they’re not making sense and their eyes are blinking off and on like signal lights, you know you have a problem [I’ve only been in that situation once as an adult, a long time ago, and, VERY unfortunately, the only thing you can do is get the first punch in — it’s gonna start whether you want it to or not]….

        Unfortunately C h i c k e n s h i t Gabby, there is nothing righteous about you.

Your a gutless, lying punk, that hurls insults on the handicapped, the homeless, or bloggers’ wives, mothers and daughters and then scurries away like a scared little mouse. You belong on the Biden/Harris re-election committee. You will find kindred spirits there. Go and leave the Inside USC blog alone.

      2. A good friend of mine worked as the head of wine auctions at Christie’s in SF some time ago. So, yPaul Pelosi hires my friend to value his wine cellar for insurance purposes. My friend arrives at the Pelosi home, rings the doorbell, no answer. Waits a few minutes, no answer. While he is waiting after the second doorbell ring, guess who walks up…Nancy and her handlers. She can’t find her house keys. She says to one of her handlers “Do you have my keys?” When the guy says no, she says to the other guy “Do you have my keys?”, and when that guy says no, she looks at my friend, whom she has never met, and says “Do you have my keys?” And my friend says “No, I am here to value your husband’s wine cellar. But he doesn’t seem to be home.” Nancy responds with “Oh for f’s sake, who has my goddam keys!”

Monday on CNBC, host Joe Kernen hit the Democrat leader with a flurry of facts on President Trump 47’s many achievements.

Hakeem sat there silently and stared blankly into space.

It almost seems like for Democrats, socialism is the answer to these problems, or I don’t know, an end of democracy or something. Cowardly Gabby Democrats just don’t get it.

Joe Kernen: Mr. Speaker, I don’t know about deflation and costs coming down. All I can tell you is that the inflation rate itself was 2.7% in the most recent read, year over year, versus, it got to a high of 9% under Biden.

Stocks are at record highs. Unemployment is 4.2%. That’s full employment. The GDP was 3%.

The border is actually secure. We’ve got trade deals with EU, Japan, many more in the works, and trillions of dollars of foreign investment coming here.

Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been set back indefinitely. And, I just wrote down a few things.
