USC Notes: Quick Reaction To 2028 Relocation

I’ve already heard from some boosters about the possible move out of the Coliseum for the 2028 season.

They don’t imagine SoFi Stadium would have much atmosphere, especially from a tailgating perspective.

“An entire season without true home games?” a booster said. “I’m not sure I want season tickets for that.”

Said another booster: “What kind of tailgating experience do you get in the parking lots? We aren’t NFL fans.”

  • Did you see The Big Ten is considering a private capital deal with CalPERS, the largest public pension fund in the U.S., according to Front Office Sports.

How angry would some Big Ten fans be in the Midwest to hear California public employees own a piece of the action?

  1. My only concern with the potential location move is it breaks USC’s 100+ year streak of playing home games in the Coliseum. Other schools have done it but USC never playing home games anywhere else is unique, especially in such a historical venue.

      1. As if the state wasn’t already gerrymandered in favor of the Democrats. Republicans represent about 38 to 40 percent of the state but have virtually no influence on the state legislature and very little representation in Congress and yet the Dems feel the need to decrease what little representation exists. And yet they have the nerve to say the other party is a threat to Democracy. Absolutely shameful. Right up there with voter harvesting is fine, automatic voter registration if you have a CDL or receive state government benefits, no signature verification on mail in ballots, and its a crime to ask for an ID at the polling place. You would think that even fair minded Democrats at some point would say enough to these fraudulent policies but no such luck.

California agreed to stop it by giving the authority to determine representative districts to an independent panel during Arnold’s term as Governor but now Newsom has decided to violate that law by playing chess with what Texas does. How about making California safe and affordable rather than using your office as a platform for your political ambitions.
