USC Morning Buzz: Lane Kiffin Goes Way Back For Dig

Lane Kiffin always has a response. Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said Oklahoma was still the better team even after losing to Mississippi last weekend, Kiffin naturally responded.

“Maybe he had the better team at Oklahoma when we beat them 55-19 in the national championship,” Kiffin said.

  • Nebraska has lost 28 straight games against AP ranked teams.
  • Nebraska coach Matt Rhule has been nothing but complimentary about Lincoln Riley this week.

“I divide college coaches into two categories,” Rhule said. “If I see him at a bar or restaurant and they don’t see me, I’d walk up and say hello to and guys I keep walking past. Lincoln Riley’s the guy I’d go sit down with.”

Riley likes to mingle with coaches. He went to a golf tournament in the offseason at Pebble Beach. It’s students, boosters, fans and other members of the public he wants nothing to do with.

      The guy threatens to harm or even kill other posters, laments that the assassin’s bullet missed, posts photos of the President is dresses and ballerina outfits, calls fire victims whiners and laughs at cancer victims in hospice care, calls his own mother a prostitute, routinely talks about other posters’ wives and mothers, shares stories of his sexual perversions, constantly lies and manipulates, posts under other users names, and posted hundreds of animal videos in an attempt to drive others off the blog.

      But according to Sparrow, the guy is being picked on. Just a bit “eccentric.” No, Michael Jackson was eccentric. This guy is mentally ill. A bully who was called out and exposed as a coward.

  7. KAM: To be honest I went to bed when the extra innings started. And then I woke up about 3-hours later and went to the computerr to see what the final score was. And they’re still playing!

      1. KAM: I went to a Cubs game against the Dodgers that had two seventh inning stretches on August 17, 1982. Play was suspended after 17 innings with the score tied 1-1. In that game, no one had scored after the Dodgers tied the game 1-1 in the top of the second. It was resumed the next day, and in the top of the 21st inning, plate umpire Eric Gregg ruled Steve Sax safe on a close play at the plate to end the agony. In this game, the Dodgers ran out of outfielders and used pitchers Bob Welch and Fernando Valenzuela in the outfield. This remains the longest game by innings (21) in the history of Wrigley Field.

        DON: It started to get dark so they told us to come back at 11 AM the next day to finish the game- back then Wrigley Field didn’t have lights!
