USC interim president Beong-Soo Kim has been righting a lot of wrongs since he took over for Carol Folt and making a good impression on campus.
So maybe he can contact the athletic dept. and tell them to stop promoting a streak that no longer exists.
Yesterday, the athletic dept. perpetuated the idea that a USC superfan’s streak of attending consecutive games is continuing.
But the streak ended in 2020 when he didn’t attend several games that season. The 2020 games counted in the official NCAA records. So you cannot pretend they did not take place.
The athletic dept. is also dishonoring USC superfan Giles Pellerin, who actually attended 797 straight games, by recognizing someone whose streak ended five years ago.
This is what the athletic dept. put out yesterday. Unfortunately.

Can’t compare Psycho fan to Giles Pellerin. Giles began his streak in the late twenties, before commercial air travel. Howard Jones was the USC coach. He was taking 3 day train trips to Chicago to watch the Notre Dame game and then a return trip. Don’t know how he was able to do it for seven plus decades without missing a game. He must have been very wealthy and probably had a very supportive wife.
