USC Morning Buzz: An Under The Radar High Impact Player

Did you know former USC defensive end Romello Height plays at Texas Tech?

And he’s been one of the best transfers in the country?

Height’s generated eight adjusted sacks, put up a 26.9 percent pressure rate and forced two fumbles. He would be better known if it wasn’t for the fact Texas Tech has high-profile defensive transfer David Bailey and Jacob Rodriguez,, who played a snap at quarterback last weekend to generate publicity.

Oregon’s USC transfers, Emmanuel Pregnon and Bear Alexander, have been team captains this week against USC.

  • USC WR Makai Lemon has been chosen has a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award.
  • Did you know Howard Jones coached at USC and Iowa? And he made the cover of Time magazine.

    1. Yeah, you want a high character guy like Bear Alexander to serve as a Capitan. What a joke. The guy faked an injury and missed the entire Spring and then threatened to transfer if his NIL package was not renegotiated. Pregnon played games with renegotiating NIL too. Whatever happened to “let your yes be yes and your no be no.”

  1. DON: Although Oregon at home deserves to be the favorite, a 9.5 point difference is a bit rich

KAM: Wiley has his usual high profile offense, but the defense is still evolving, especially against a good run-pass team like the Ducks

DON: This is in effect a playoff game with the loser out of Playoff consideration if it is SC, and probably true of Oregon if it loses

    1. What Lincoln is thinking right this moment: “Our offense is better than their offense….we don’t need to play great on defense….we just need to stop them once each half.”

      1. KAM: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made a fool of himself when asked why Senile Joe Biden never released the Epstein files.

“Why wouldn’t [the Epstein files] have been released the past four years when President Biden was in office?” a reporter asked Schumer.

“Well, that’s the question every American is asking — not every American but so many Americans are asking…what the hell is he hiding?” Schumer said.https://rumble.com/v71uglk-schumer-makes-a-fool-of-himself-over-epstein-files.htmllol

“Why doesn’t he want them released? When you don’t want something like this released when a whole lot of Republicans are calling for the release — his own party members… people ask the question, ‘What’s he hiding?!’” Schumer said.

  3. Slight redirect to the topic, which is why are USC transfers doing so well at other schools? Might be because the NIL deals were better elsewhere, but the degree to which the current staff was developing, or rather not developing or their talent on the field, would be the follow up question. In the age of NIL, it is somewhat more difficult to separate the motivations for transfers in that respect, but it was obviously enough for them to exercise the portal. But to the second part, in regards to the Oregon team captains for the game, that is total troll bait from Lanning. Not sure what he is hoping to accomplish by showing off 2 former USC players on his side of the field, as it makes for decent posterboard material with us. But it also seems to some degree we are living rent free in his head. I hope to see that continue on Saturday…

        The Narcissist’s Airtight Victim Narrative

        From Psychology Today March 2023:

        KEY POINTS

        1. Exaggerated victimhood is a common feature of narcissistic grandiosity.

        2. Narcissistic personalities often feel victimized because of their unrealistic expectations, hypersensitivity, and lack of empathy.

        3. Narcissists also play the victim to elicit sympathy and avoid responsibility for their abusive behavior.

See Gabby’s claim of victimhood below. Lack of empathy, abusive behavior, it all fits. And of course he has now taken over the blog so that he is the center of attention, the most obvious narcissist personality trait.

        DON: She needs institutionalization.

What can Sybil do. Well he/she can try these exercises:

    Exercises and techniques

Interpersonal skills: Exercises can improve communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to express needs assertively and respectfully in relationships.

Mindfulness and self-reflection: Practices like meditation and focused breathing can help individuals observe and detach from their unhelpful thoughts and feelings without judgment.

Emotional regulation: Learning to identify and manage strong emotions is crucial. This can involve skills taught in DBT such as paced breathing and other relaxation techniques.

Perspective-taking: Therapists may use role-playing exercises to help individuals consider different viewpoints in a non-threatening way.

Empathy and gratitude: Engaging in activities that foster empathy, such as gratitude exercises and focusing on the needs of others, can help shift focus away from self-centeredness.

    DON: Cowardly Gabby is hopeless.
