USC-Oregon Live Blog

Defense. Running the ball. Special teams. USC goes 0 for 3 against the good teams.

The go-to play has been to just chuck it deep and hope for a penalty or great catch

College Football Playoff bid on line and USC lets Oregon eat up six minutes and go 79 yards for a touchdown.

Yards rushing: Oregon 137, USC 42.

Oregon finds the USC weak spot many opponents refuse to attack — over the middle — and is back ahead by 14 points

USC finally claws back a TD.

Lincoln Riley is killing USC. Bad special teams coaching. Horrible play calls insie the 10-yard line before half. No discipline.

Special teams penalty so costly. Why doesn’t Riley hire a big-time special teams coach?

Jayden Maiava keeps forcing passes into double coverage and finally gets intercepted.

Special teams hurts USC as the Trojans allow an 85-yard punt return TD. Was Sam Huard punting? Oregon 21-14.

Time for a trick play. Makai Lemon throws a 29-yard pass to Tanook Hines for a TD and it’s 14-14.

First quarter total yards: USC 134, Oregon 132. USC has rushed for only 20 yards.

The Oregon offensive line is dominating the line of scrimmage, the defense can’t tackle well and covering the tight ends and reserve receivers is a project. In other words, D’Anton Lynn strikes again. 14-7.

Oregon was even better, or USC’s defense even worse, as the Ducks needed 2:49 to march down the field and tie the game. Dante Moore 4-4 for 51 yards.

USC with a strong opening drive and scores a TD on 8-yard reception from Makai Lemon for 7-0 lead. Maiava 5-7 for 54 yards.

  • USC offensive lineman Elijah Paige and safety Kamari Ramsey are not playing. Safety Bishop Fitzgerald is also out.

Oregon will be without freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore (knee) and former USC receiver Gary Bryant Jr. (ankle)

  • Did you see USC is getting sued for $12 million in unpaid work on a new computer science building that is right near the football field and football facility being built for Lincoln Riley?

The Ginsburg Human-Centered Computation Hall opened 14 months ago. So USC owes $12 million? How about taking a certain football coach’s yearly salary. That should cover the costs in the lawsuit.

    1. King Miller needs Paige in this game and it would be VERY nice to have Karmari [although we actually did okay against Iowa w/o him]…

      1. Georgia Coach, Kirby Smart, said the secret to winning football games is “hitting hard.” I think USC is gonna do that today….

  2. Most undisciplined game I’ve seen from USC since Helton took them to Cal and they mouthed off at the fans and failed to walk off the field during substitutions—how could Riley have them so unprepared?

      1. Wow, So Cal! [I didn’t, couldn’t, have expected this many dumb plays —hitting a guy on a fair catch? walking to the sidelines to fight with the bench? climbing over center?]….. this is a good…but really poorly coached team….

      2. Well, I said I wasn’t expecting a win today and the Village Idiot said I sounded like a dumbass when talking football. LMAO

As usual, she’s guilty of what she accuses others.

      3. just because the ducks won, it doesn’t clear you of being a “dumbass”

we would pray for you, but there is no hope…

  3. Same story- The Trojans are soft just like their coach. No running game, no defense, poor special teams equals no chance of winning a big game. Oregon, is clearly the better coached team with more talent than the Trojans. Lastly, our defensive coordinator Lynn is very overrated our players tackle poorly, and looked confused even on basic running plays.

Sorry folks this team was not prepared properly to win a big game.

  4. The only half time adjustment with our defense is to put 22 players on defense, and it still wouldn’t work stopping Oregon because our players are soft.

  6. New Wolf line, not a great Oregon team this year.

therefore, SC must really be bad if they can’t beat Oregon.

Lanning is gone, going to the Gators per my sauces.

  7. Wolf will be in his element critiquing Riley.

My prediction: F grade n its way for coach, special teams and defense.

    Thanks Wolf.

  8. somewhere, out in the darkness, a rasping sound. panting softly, the Wolf sharpens his claws on a smooth stone. saliva drips from his fangs as he thinks about the vicious column to come. not a particle of mercy exists in his tortured soul. morning is near, but he still has evict two southern cal flag team girls from his dim lair.
