USC Morning Buzz: Dan Lanning Got Assist From CBS On Pre-Game Motivation

Oregon coach Dan Lanning told John Canzano that he didn’t know how unprofessional the USC press release was last week until people from CBS Sports pointed it out.

That’s pretty bad when the employees at CBS — who probably swiftly go through the press release for stats and game notes — notice it’s so bad that they have to mention it to the opposing coach.

I think we should be hearing a comment from Tim Tessalone, who wrote those press releases at USC for more than 30 years, about that press release and what it means to his legacy.

  • Lincoln Riley blew off the Monday night rally but King Miller and Kaylon Miller spoke to the crowd.
  • USC has sent out two emails this week about ticket’s being available for Saturday’s game. Must be going fast!

    Happy Thanskgiving.

    In the old days, I used to get excited knowing that SC basketball had started and SC’s football team was ready to annhilate ugly. It was automatic that SC would win and go to the Rose Bowl and beat the ohio st. buckeyes like a bad habbit. Now a days, you don’t hear a thing about the SC vs ugly game. Muleshoe Riley has destoyed the enthusiasm regarding the season and this game. Watching SC is like having a tooth pulled. It hurts and sucks due to Riley being in charge.

    Then you have Jen Taco Lita Cohen not knowing what the hell she is doing. She is lost.

    The problem is, if SC loses to ugly, Muleshoes (Thank you Budda) will say in his press conference that SC is improving and wait until next season. And it will be the same crap next year except nd will not be on the schedule. I am hoping that the ghosts of Howard Jones, Joahn Mckay, and John Robinson haunt Jen Taco Lita Cohen reminding her how nd is the most important game with SC. Just like the story about Scrooge. Charles White can play Tiny Tim.

    SC is a basketball, volleyball, and waterpolo school. Men’s team beat ASU for the Maui Invitation. Waterpolo starts ncaa playoff tomorrow at standford and they are the #1 team. The final will be televised on Sunday at 6 PM on ESPNU. SC has the easier route since they have san jose st, princton and fordham in their bracket. ugly has stanford in their bracket.

      1. I’ve tried to explain [several times] that I used to talk to Cal 75 [Chuck] on the phone. He was a great guy –very smart. He got cancer, he was going to the best specialists, he told me he was getting weaker & weaker…then he stopped calling …and when I called him to find out how he was, his # had been disconnected….
