Sunday Buzz: Did USC Hurt Notre Dame’s College Football Playoff Chances?

Did USC losing to Illinois keep Notre Dame out of the College Football Playoff?

The knock against the Irish is that their best win (USC) was worse than the best wins of Miami and Alabama.

Now here’s something for dummy Riley to chew on: Alabama got in because of their tough wins and better schedule. An easier schedule is not good for a team like USC!

Now USC should be picked for the Alamo Bowl, against BYU according to most bowl projections.

I’m guessing BYU won’t have many opt outs or players heading to transfer portal. That sounds like a team you want to avoid in a bowl game.

    1. That’s why one of the MANY names she’s earned is Abby Normal, Ed.

She’ll never get the help she needs. She’ll just accuse others of what she is guilty, both with her posts and the moronic names under which she posts.

  2. Bottom line. Notre Dame, join a conference or you get left out of the playoffs. That should be the lesson here. No free rides for independents with soft schedules.

      1. Boise State tough? Miami is so overrated, you’ll see that in the playoffs. Look at the rest of Notre Dame’s schedule. Navy. Pittsburgh and on it goes.

      2. Right. The only top ten team was Texas A&M and they lost. No conference championship game. A soft schedule that always includes some pushovers like Stanford and the service academies.

      3. KAM:.Boise State won the Mountain West. Miami and Texas A&M made the playoffs.

DON: Somehow Alabama avoided playing Texas A&M and Ole Miss. But they got Eastern Washington and Louisiana -Monroe.

  4. Scottie, you are off the reservation on this one.

If the domers had beaten Miami and/or A&M, then they would be in.

That said, it is silly to have James Madison in the playoff, and not so great to have Tulane.

It is fine in a 68 team tournament to include conference champs, as they really don’t crowd out teams that are better. But the domers and probably Texas belong in the playoffs.

    1. Well, he did blow up the Iranian nuclear facility and some Venezuelan terrorist shipping Fentanyl into the country. And he closed the border and is deporting illegal alien criminals. And, male military officers can no longer wear dresses and females need to do five pull-ups. If that is what you mean by evil you are once again living in the self-delusional dimension. Those outside of the dimension just say “Thank God for President Trump who protects our country.”

      1. I just wanna be able to say we won 10 games. I don’t care who we play in the bowl —well, actually I do care: I want somebody we’ll be favored against….

      2. btw, TCU is no pushover. I hope their star players don’t play [I’m sure we’ll lose folks who want to concentrate on the NFL]. They’ve got lots of talent on both sides of the ball ….and a great coach.
