Jayden Maiava Re-Signs With USC

Jayden Maiava has re-signed with USC.

This is a logical development but it was being watched because of the speculation about whether Husan Longstreet would return if Maiva remained at USC.

Some fans actually thought Lincoln Riley would nudge Maiava out of the program so Longstreet could start next season. But you don’t give up someone who has 27 college career starts.

So now it’s up to Longstreet to decide what he wants to do.

    1. Longstreet won’t leave. He is a local guy. His brother is on the team. He is competing everyday and developing his skills. I do wish Riley would play his backup players more often. Now the Maiava has enough experience, let Longstreet start a game. Throw the kid a bone.

  1. If he leaves, I suspect it would require:

    D4 program

    Guaranteed to start

At a minimum a very good o-line, RBs, and receivers.

Stable program, coaching staff will be there for the duration

That will narrow the choice set considerably

      1. Indy loses a lot of players at the end of the season…Oregon for sure is on the lookout and they pay substantially more on average than anybody else on the list.

Imagine if Husang stays, and after being in the program for one year, he outperforms Maiava in camp. That would be a pickle for Riley…

      2. 67 — Maiava’s new deal: “4 million bank check, 2 million under the table cash, ‘responsibility free’ Mondays at MGM Grand, access to Brad Pitt’s black book and guaranteed starts in all games independent of level of success in spring or summer camps…. or game performance.”

      1. I suspect that is exactly what they are waiting for. So far, Raiola is the top QB in the portal. I don’t see him as being exceptional. Hopefully the quacks go for him.

      2. KAM: Sam Leavitt from Arizona State, Brendan Sorsby from Cincinnati, and DJ Lagway from the Florida Gators are a few of the other Portal QBs available.

DON: How would Husan rank among those?

DON: Why do you think I want to nip this anti-semitism in the bud on college campuses? By the way, what did you think of my last words about Meathead
