I think Arizona State defensive coordinator Brian Ward got some bad advice withdrawing from the USC search for a defensive coordinator.
Sources at USC tell me Ward thought Pete Kwiatkowski would get the job. But here we are several days later and Kwiatkowski still is getting mentioned for USC and Stanford openings.
A lot of times, the first time choice doesn’t get the job. D’Anton Lynn wasn’t the first choice. Pete Carroll was famously the fourth choice. I’m not thrillled with the internal choices and I doubt Chad Bowden is either.
Would USC wait until the transfer portal closes on Jan. 16? Let’s hope not.
Third DC in 5 years, they better get it right.
D’Anton Lynn has set the new bar for DC salary at $3 million plus at Penn State.

KAM: You mean the new bar for overpaid incompetence?
DON: UCLA sure fooled us with him.

“Sources at USC tell me Ward thought Pete Kwiatkowski would get the job.”
Ward is correct. Pete K will get the job. USC is just delaying the formal announcement of the decision until a time closer to the closure of the transfer portal on 1/16/26. Coach Henny likely understands this by now. If he leaves for Georgia Tech in the next few days USC will claim that Henny was still in consideration for the DC when he left for a new opportunity thereby deflecting the anger of the players who wanted him as their DC. “We wanted him too but he left.”

Hilarious that she cries about other people posting non-USC stuff, but felt the need to post 3 or 4 comments about stuff not related to USC. Dims are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.
Walz is thrilled today’s events transpired. He’s hoping it’ll shift attention away from his corrupt stewardship of government funds.

KAM: .USC transfer wide receiver DJ Jordan has signed with Arizona, On3’s Pete Nakos reports. In his freshman season at USC, Jordan hauled in five receptions for 38 yards. Prior to enrolling at USC, Jordan was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 98 overall player in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus.
DON: He was the No. 20-ranked wide receiver in his class and the No. 8 overall player from the state of Utah, hailing from Sierra Canyon.
