USC Morning Buzz: Husan Longstreet To LSU

Husan Longstreet has signed with LSU, according to CBS Sports.

He will be expected to play behind Sam Leavitt, unless Leavitt cannot recover in time from a foot injury. But LSU also has Elon transfer Landen Clark, so Longstreet might be No. 3.

It’s a big win for Lane Kiffin. Personally, I would have gone to a smaller school for a year and played.

  • Matt Leinart sat courtside next to Jen Cohen at last night’s basketball game at the Galen Center. It’s a good example of why Leinart was never going to be critical of USC’s administration regarding the Notre Dame game.
  • Here is another USC-themed Sports Illustrated cover photo taken by Trojan graduate Peter Read Miller.

      1. 67 — Longstreet is being short range smart…but long range unsmart. He probably would have upped that $900,000 more at USC in 2027 than LSU……

    1. “I wish Longstreet well — sorry he left us but I’m happy for him personally —cuz — I more closely identify with this petulant player than I do the entire Trojan football team.”

  1. Well, Matt is entering his prime earning years, and he doesn’t want to kill the golden goose…I understand that, but at the same time, it tarnishes what he means to USC fans.

    1. He was in his prime earning years in his twenties. And if he put 20% of it in the stock market he should be set for life.

    1. Well done! Mercenary football! It’s come to the point where the quality of a recruiting class is irrelevant. You don’t care until the guy is actually playing for you. And even then, he might be gone after playing a few games.

  2. From what I read, Longstreet was supposed to play in the Alamo Bowl and that wasn’t the case. Obviously he doesn’t mind being second or he wouldn’t have signed at LSU.

I’d venture to say that there was some shady crap going on behind the scenes…

    Oh well
