Purdue Fills Galen Center

USC started the day with a 13-3 record in basketball.

But you wouldn’t know it from the crowd at the Galen Center, which was full of Purdue fans.

Listen to the crowd here:

And look how full the pub next to the Galen Center got before the game.

It must drive Eric Musselman crazy with all the promotion work he does. The official attendance: 8,629.

  1. Off the top of my head, without research or Google [in other words, doing it the way our hero Wolfman does], I think this was Purdue’s closest win.

    Not bad USC.

    1. KAM: Remember when Obama gave ICE Director Tom Homan a Presidential Rank Award for his “sustained extraordinary accomplishments in immigration enforcement” ten years ago?

DON: Your failed 2024 presidential campaign ended with approximately $20 million in debt. How do you afford an $8 million mansion at exclusive Point Dume? Inquiring minds want to know!

  2. KAM: USC Trojans’ Biggest Transfer Loss As Portal Closes- The Trojans acquired eight players in the transfer portal, with a majority of those additions being defensive pickups. USC had 21 outgoing transfers from this season’s roster, as the Trojans did lose a few key pieces to the transfer portal on both offense and defense. Of those departures, the most notable among Trojan fans was the loss of USC defensive tackle Devan Thompkins. After three seasons in Los Angeles, Thompkins entered the transfer portal on Dec. 17 before USC’s 30-27 Alamo Bowl upset loss to the lowly TCU Horned Frogs.

DON: Thompkins committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Jan. 7, where he hopes to make a major impact on coach Kalen DeBoer’s defense in the SEC next season. This season, the Crimson Tide posted an 11-4 overall record, reaching the CFP Quarterfinal round.

  3. KAM: Ask Oregon and Alabama if this Playoff system is superior to the old Bowl system. Both got humiliated in their last game, which is the one they will never forget

DON: At least with the bowls you would have 2 or 3 teams with a legitimate claim at being No. 1

KAM: Did you see how Greenland placed new meaning on your MAGA slogan?

    DON: How’s that?

    1. KAM: When ICE shows up in Texas, they go to the local jail and take these people into custody. When they arrive in Minneapolis, they’ve got to go door knocking because the local police have been told to not cooperate with feds.

DON: It’s that simple. That’s how it works.

      1. Our favorite dumbo thinks that [i.e., Buffalo receiver possession of ball at time of impact with turf] was an interception by Denver….good call!

  4. a few observations on the Sunday musings and over-inflated self-image of the Dummies:

that picture of the Gayylen Center days it all: it includes a huge banner listing the years of “participation” in NCAA tourneys. REALLY?? i’ve heard of participation trophies, but a school so desperate for recognition that it actually hangs a participation Banner?? Oh, Mercy Nurse!!

i can’t speak for other schools, but here at UCLA, we only hang Champeeenship banners in Pauley! no Sweet 16, elite 8 or Participation banners! and we stil can’t hang them all, for basketball and volleyball for eample, there would be nearly 40 champeeenship banners for those two sports alone! hanging that much cloth in such a confined space could lead to a conflagration that would consume the West side!!

i also saw a number of comments claiming the trOXans won the Purdue game!! sure they were all from the same guy, but that’s a whole ‘nother issue!

    1. It is disappointing that the Galen Center is not filled to capacity for all men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball games, and basketball championships does give UCLA something to crow about even though the last one was many years ago. However, sharing one national championship in football in 1954 is nothing to brag about either. Each school has its strengths and weaknesses and we are fortunate to have both in Los Angeles. One of my daughters graduated from UCLA, and she did get a great education. Graduating from either school is a plus for a career. I root for all the schools that my children and grandchildren attended except for when they play USC. And, they are all USC fans as well. Fight on. Dan, Class of 1962

    2. Charlie is Sybil’s “more literate” twin.

[btw — message to “un-more literate twin”: The fact Buffalo’s potentially game winning catch was not reviewed….plus the 55 yards of penalties [probably a record on one drive] against Buffalo on Denver’s last drive –is all the proof you need the officiating was in the bag]…

  5. so NOBS is back?? i thought he was banished until i saw the one comment complaining that a Somali congresswoman has earned a small fortune in a few years…you could list hundreds of people in congress who’ve made a lot of money thru their connections.

Further, it used to be a feel-good story of the immigrant who came to US and made it big…so long as they have light skin, that is! if they are Darkies, there must’ve been some insidious shenanigans afoot! wow.
