Morning Buzz: Rivals Ranks USC Recruit No. 1

USC defensive end Luke Wafle finished as the No. 1 recruit in the final Rivals 300 rankings.

“I don’t think he’s had a soda in six years. I know he hasn’t ice cream or any kind of sweets. He’s eight eggs and a pound of bison breakfast guy every day,” his father told Rivals.

Luke Wafle-rinovich?

  1. Can’t wait to see Wafle and Winfield. Hope they start. Hard to believe Mark Bowman is not in the top 30. The film on that guy is incredible. Maybe his reclassification had something to do with it.

      1. Notre Dame’s top 2 players rank 7th and 8th …ours ranks 1st and 11th. Notre Dame’s average is seven and a half. Ours is six. Lowest number wins. We win ….[cuz we don’t have to actually meet ’em on the field]….

      2. KAM: Riley Coyote is a coward.

DON: DON: Yes he really is a disappointment. We had such high hopes for NCs 4 years ago. Now he ducks competition.

    1. Reminds me of Cushing but at this stage has more physical gifts. He’s fast, strong and possesses a great first step. Already has an NFL body.

    1. Many of these Freshman are expecting to play immediately. That is unlikely to happen for most of them. It will be difficult to keep the class together.

  2. another zinger by the wolfman!! we’ve all seen what happens when the helicopter daddy actually has to let his boy out of the gilded cage and sets him loose in South Central!! after a week outside the walls of the SC compound, he’ll have a doobie in one hand and a Tech-9 in the other hanging out the window of a lowered Impala!!

  3. How many five stars did Coach Cignetti have at Indiana this year? None as I recall, but getting the number one recruit in the nation who had an outstanding game in the Navy Bowl plus a top DL is great, if Coach Patterson doesn’t redshirt him. Like Stewart, play him and pay him. Top draft choices in the pros and recruits in college need to play right away. It’s always going to be about the coaching. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
