The USC schedule is out and we already have a talking point for Lincoln Riley and his lame defenders.
USC has to play Indiana and Ohio State when those teams are coming off byes! And the Trojans play Oregon the week after the Ducks play Portland State.
You know what I don’t like about the schedule? The USC-UCLA game is on Thanksgiving weekend.
Without Notre Dame any more, the Crosstown Rivalry could permanently move to Thanksgiving weekend. And that really puts a damper on a lot of activities associated with the rivalry because students are off campus.
For example, the annual rally becomes an afterthought and draws less fans.
Back to the schedule. The first big test is week 4 vs. Oregon at the Coliseum. USC plays Oregon, Washington and Penn State in consecutive weeks. That’s not going to be easy, especially with a road trip for Penn State. And then gets Indiana and Ohio State in 2 of 3 weeks.
Are you happy?
All that is left is scheduling the crummy opponent for a 12th game. UNLV or San Jose State anyone?

Scott, grow up. Every coach points out the difficulties in scheduling. Lowering expectations is what they do. The USC schedule is brutal this year; if the team gets at least ten wins this year will you give them credit or complain that they didn’t go undefeated and win each game by three TDs. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962.
Bye the way, big, tough ND plays ten mediocre teams plus BYU and Miami. They should have opened the season with USC because they need USC more than USC needs them. I’m rooting for BYU and Miami to beat them.
