The Problems With New USC Billboard Campaign

Just a couple follow-ups on this new USC billboard campaign.

Does “The Time : Is Now” mean USC can make the College Football Playoff because it no longer plays Notre Dame?

Also, several readers have pointed out to me the grammar issues with the space before a colon.

As Jim Healy listeners might remember: Who goofed? I’ve got to know.

  1. KAM: USC has lost both of its starting tight ends after Walker Lyons announced he was transferring to BYU. The move leaves the Trojans with a significant gap in their tight end depth, following the departure of the other starter Lake McCree to the NFL draft earlier in the offseason. 

    DON: The decision marks another blow to USC’s offensive lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season. Will the highly touted 2026 recruits, five-star Mark Bowman and four-star Josiah Jeffersons, start?

      Jim Healy is the patron saint of sports talk. He started all of this backin the 70’s and 80’s. He was on from 5 pm to 5:30 pm monday through friday. I enjoyed listening to him. Lasorda showed his tru colors regarding Dave Kingman’s performance. He just cussed the entire time. He was nothing but a loudmouth blowhard. He sucked. Just like the greatest cheater of all time, Johhny, they call me, “The Cheetin’ Wooden”.

      1. you call yourself an LA guey and you rip on two patron saints of LA sports?? You’re lucky a lightening bolt does come down and knock you outta your chair!! Sure Tommy was salty in the locker room but as he stated in his book “ The Artful Doyer” he never once fussed in front of his beloved wife Jo. Wooden of course never cussed anywhere after the age of 12 when his brother hit him in face with a shovel-ful of horse dung, and lil’ Johnnie let the cursé words fly, but his dad over heard and “corrected” the behavior on stern mid-west fashion.

  5. The season will play itself out, and LC will either be praised for getting the team into the playoffs or vilified for have a mediocre or losing record. It will not be about ND. I’m excited to see how we compare with the top three teams in the Big Ten. It appears that we have the players, but the question will always be do we have the right coaching. By the way, let’s all root for Sam Darnold, Leonard Williams, Owuso Nwusu (hope that I spelled his name right) and Brandon Pili for a Seahawks super bowl win. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962.

      1. KAM: Some good news! Kara Dunn had 25 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, and Southern California defeated No. 8 Iowa 81-69 on Thursday night, snapping the Hawkeyes’ eight-game winning streak and handing them their first Big Ten loss of the season.

        DON: USC moves up to 11th place in the Big Ten!

    Lay off the Johnny They Call Me Cheetin Wooden juice. SC dominated both the men and transgender women’s team and won the indoor and outdoor champsipionships. Im sure ugly had a melt down and had a bunch of karens calm down the team
