Sunday Buzz: One USC Team Not Ducking Competition

USC is one of eight colleges invited to the Fiesta Bowl flag football tournament April 18-19 at Arizona State.

Georgia, Florida and Arizona State are among the other teams in the tournament.

USC has just started a flag football club team. Some would argue Lincoln Riley’s defenses play flag football the past four seasons.

  • “Last year, we were one of the most injured teams in the country,” Eric Musselman said after USC defeated Rutgers yesterday. “This year, we’re one of the most injured teams in the country.

If this is true, Musselman needs to evaluate what he is doing and what USC is doing from a sports-science perspective.

  1. Scott’s last comment is my thought exactly. Does the coach have any answers for this problem? Is it being analyzed? Are practices and exercises being evaluated? Are physical therapy experts being asked for advice? If a problem keeps repeating itself, maybe it is insanity like Einstein said to keep doing the same thing over and over again. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

    1. Can you imagine a coach [with the responsibility of keeping his team fit for competition] complaining they’re one of the most injured teams in the country year after year?
