Former USC Player Gets Ninth-Year Of Eligibility!

Former USC defensive end Solomon Tuliaupupu has been granted a ninth year of eligibility. This is not a misprint. A ninth year! What is his 401 (k) looking like?

He was a Class of 2018 high school graduate at Mater Dei and will play next season at Montana, where he also spent last season. He had 43 tackles last season at Montana.

  • Alijah Arenas was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after he averaged 26.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games last week.
  • Madison Whyte is the USTFCCCA Women’s National Track Athlete of the Week. She ran the 400 meters in 50.82, which is the No. 2 time in USC history and No. 1 time in the NCAA in this young season.
  • I’ve been wanting to mention this but the late/great, actress/comedian Catherine O’Hara was honored at the USC Comedy Festival by being the recipient of the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Masters of Comedy Award in 2023.

She is in one of my favorite SCTV skits below.

And here she is as Katherine Hepburn.

  1. KAM: Freshman Phenom Alijah Arenas scored 11 of his 24 points in the final four minutes, including the go-ahead basket with 0.7 seconds left, to help USC beat Penn State 77-75 on Sunday.

    1. He is all that he was hyped up to be and probably more being that he had to overcome his terrible accident and the knee injury. I hope that he stays for a full year so that the world can enjoy his college talent. Congrats to Coach Muss for balancing his play with his recovery. Appears to be just a great talent and glad that he is a Trojan. Fight on, Dan, Class or 1962

P.S. Can’t wait to see next year’s women’s BB team with JuJu, Jazzy, Kennedy and newcomer and top recruit Sonja Hall.

  4. I really don’t think a 9th year of eligibility serves Tuli well. Clearly, he is not talented enough to play in the NFL or even the Canadian league. And his contemporaries have 4 or 5 years of real world experience over him. Steve Jobs was his age when he became the CEO of Apple and made a public offering making him a multimillionaire. Time to grow up and get on with life. You will not find it as a rotational piece at Wyoming. Unless you are a recreation major.
