USC Promotes Analyst To Coach Defensive Tackles

USC defensive analyst Skyler Jones is being promoted to defensive tackles coach.

What’s funny is the people who wanted Ed Orgeron or the former Texas Tech defensive line coach will celebrate this like it was a shrewd move.

What this tells me is Gary Patterson didn’t really have anyone he wanted to coach the tackles. Patterson is known for being a defensive backs guy and he got two guys to coach the secondary.

USC has two defensive line coaches as Shaun Nua coaches the defensive ends.

  1. You are an elite interior defensive lineman. Can go anywhere. Coach Henny impresses you and ultimately you decide on USC. And then you are informed after the transfer portal closes that Henny is leaving. You hear rumors of Fitch and Coach O and now you are introduced to a nobody analyst and told there will be no interior defensive coach after being promised the guy who coached Aaron Donald. This sucks! Kids want to be developed by someone with a track record. I can’t believe that Bowden and Cohen agreed to this. I do believe that Riley was fine with continuing the tradition of mediocre to awful defensive football.

    1. KAM: Ex-USC linebacker Abdul-Malik McClain of Orange County dodges maximum 20 years in p r i s o n for his COVID benefits Royal Scam.

In the scheme, USC football players received debit cards loaded with hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in unemployment benefits, which they used to make withdrawals at ATMs, p r o s e c u t o r s said. McClain sought at least $1,056,092, with actual losses totaling approximately $283,063.: McClain and other USC football players filed f r a u d u l e n t claims under the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program, using both their names and s t o l e n identities.

      McClain sought and obtained a cut for helping others file f r a u d u l e n t applications, according to the D O J.

      DON: Malik don’t like it!

  2. Just saw how a USC football player was arrested for sales of marijuana, and I’m thinking ‘oh no.’ Turns out it was a South Carolina player. The school goes by “USC” back there.
