Does anyone have any video of Lincoln Riley interacting with USC fans like this?
- Grant Govel and Cameron Faussett combined on a seven-inning, no-hitter in an 11-0 victory over Pepperdine last night at Dedeaux Field.
Govel struck out 10 and walked one in six innings. The game went only seven innings because of the mercy rule. Andrew Lamb and Dean Carpentier homered for the Trojans, the first home runs at the Dedeaux Field. Kevin Takeuchi went 3 for 4 with four RBI.
- UCLA defeated USC in water polo yesterday, 10-9. This will surprise no one who has followed the USC water polo programs the past few years.
Scott, I am glad to see that Lane Kiffin is maturing and building his culture at LSU. I really don’t care if LR is into public relations; as long as he spends his time making our team better. As we have said on this site over and over, the proof will be in next year’s team. I liked Pete Carroll not because I once shook his hand in his office, but rather because he led our team to championships.
Congratulations to the baseball team for their great start. They are obviously getting great coaching.
The loss to UCLA in women’s water polo was frustrating, but it is not the final match of the season. UCLA always has a great women’s team; so, it is no shame to lose by one goal to them, but we do have the opportunity to beat them in the NCAA tournament.

Same here: I don’t care about Lincoln’s self-protective personality if he wins 10 games on this season’s hellish schedule.
Also: Watched the video. I wouldn’t call what Lane is doing “interacting.” More like ‘barely humoring’ fawning fans…..with a “how much longer will this last before I can get outta here?” look on his face. [Bet Lincoln could fake ‘fan love’ better than this]…..

My son’s LL team was up 3 to 1 against the first place team in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs. Our pitcher was humming. And then the automatic sprinkler system goes on and nobody knows how to stop it. It flooded the field and they decided to replay the game three weeks later. Predictably, our pitcher was no longer throwing strikes and we lost. Had they allowed us to get that last out, a 5 inning game would have been considered complete and we would have won the league.

As for lights, I remember looking at the single light situated atop the pole next to the snack shack. It was solar and went on as soon as it got dark enough.
It was the signal that games were over and whoever led at that point, won the ballgame! When you led a close game, you watched that light as it was the Second Coming. Oh, sweet victory!!

MODERATOR

Based only on the comments you provided (and not on anything outside that thread), the worst commenter in terms of disruptiveness and toxicity is Gabby. Why Gabby stands out as the worst commenter
This isn’t about politics or opinions—it’s about behavior in the comment section:
Gabby repeatedly targets other commenters by name (“Cowardly Gabby,” “disgusting pervert,” etc.) rather than addressing ideas.
Many of Gabby’s posts appear designed to inflame, derail, or bait reactions rather than contribute to the USC/Lynn discussion.
Several comments move beyond trash talk into religious, ethnic, or dehumanizing insults, which is where moderation lines usually get crossed.
Gabby frequently pulls the conversation away from football into culture-war arguments, causing long side fights unrelated to the post.
The sheer number of Gabby’s comments—often repeating the same antagonistic tone—amplifies the disruption.

KAM: Based on what’s shown in the thread, Cowardly Gabby could come across as nicer (and be better received) by changing how she engages, not just what she believes. Some practical ways:
1. Drop the insults and name-calling
Personal attacks, slurs, violent threats, doxxing posters, naming their home address and wife’s name and mocking language instantly shut down any chance of goodwill. Even people who might agree with her points will tune out once it turns hostile.
2. Respond to ideas, not people
Instead of attacking someone’s character (“meet me in Barstow,” etc.), focus on the argument itself. For example: criticize a policy, statistic, or sports take—without attacking the person posting it.
3. Stop re-litigating old posts
Digging up months-old comments about fighting posters in Barstow to shame others keeps conflict alive. Letting old arguments stay in the past makes interactions feel less vindictive.
4. Tone down repetition and spamming
Posting the same accusations or threats of violence, threatening to show up at their place of residence or using hundreds of aliases over and over reads as harassment, not debate. Fewer, calmer posts would go a long way.
5. Change your tone
A neutral or friendly tone matters more than “winning.” Even disagreeing politely (“We’ll have to agree to disagree” without threatening to attack them) changes how people perceive you.
6. Model the behavior you want back
If Cowardly Gabby wants respect, she has to show it first. Calm, concise, and civil posts tend to de-escalate others—even in toxic threads.
DON: Bottom line:
Cowardly Gabby doesn’t need to change her opinions to be nicer—just her delivery. Less hostility, more restraint, less animal d e f e ca t i o n videos, less doxxing and stalking and insulting the wives of posters here and a focus on discussion instead of domination would make her far more welcome….

KAM: Governor Mimbo offered his leadership and his state as the model for failing socialist Europe this week, proclaiming that “California is a stable and reliable partner” for Europe. The model includes high taxes, massive spending programs and greater bureaucratic regulations — precisely the policies that have driven the European economy into its current stagnation.
DOIN: In other words, Democrats were in Europe to offer precisely what Governor Mimbo outwardly condemned.
