Morning Buzz: An Easy Commitment For USC

Isaia Vandermade, a Class of 2027 defensive lineman from Santa Margarita, committed to USC.

It was an easy recruitment because his father is former USC player and long-time football staffer Lenny Vandermade.

  • Alabama has hired USC offensive analyst Brad Aoki as a pass-game specialist.
  • USC officially announced the hiring of Mike Ekeler as special teams and linebckers coach.
  • UCLA defeated USC, 7-0, in the first-ever flag football game between the schools on Sunday in El Segundo. Both schools have club teams this year.

      1. If they let alumni play on the club team, maybe Scott could join. Wasn’t he on the Daily Trojan team that played the Daily Bruin before the annual real football game? He could put his superior coaching knowledge and skills to good use for his alma mater. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

  1. If I was the coach, we wouldn’t have been shut out.

The USC flag football coach is actually the flag football coach at Huntington Beach High School.

For you, Dan, I would have Chuck Phillips and Chester the chimp coach the team.
